  1. 1,000 years?  Of course.  I'd expect Martian colonies to be going in just a couple hundred years.  And let's not forget about terraforming other worlds too.

Also.... don't limit yourself to thinking about living on other planets.  Worlds on the other hand would include moons, and there are a number in the Solar system I could see being colonized too.

  2. I think man will live on Mars in maybe less then 1000 years. We will terraform Mars with plants and make an atmosphere and making Mars a NICE place will take more then 1000 years , but mankind will do this in order to have humans survive. The Earth can change and become un inhabitable in the blink of an eye. Having humans on another planet, and of course animals, will insure we will go on.

The Earth and the universe could care less if we were here or not, but we as humans insist we go on.. So Yes I believe we will live on Mars in 1000 years or less. while not a great place in that time period, someday it could be another Earth.

  3. more than likely if we don't kill ourselves off first.

  4. i hope not =[

  5. No.  We will go extinct before we have the ability to accomplish such a feat.

  6. I dont know but the white man think he smart just cause he went to the moon! Brothas gonna go to the SUN!...........We gonna go at night! ;)

  7. No I personally do not think so, but that is my opinion

  8. If we continue to keep trashing this planet we might have to colonize other planets if we want our species to survive. Bummer, huh?

  9. If humanity continues for another 1,000 years, it will very likely be controlled by a scientific and sophisticated dictatorship.  It is easy to manipulate people, especially when they're distracted when they worship celebrities, sports, and shopping.  They can live in troubled times, (such as today with many people dying from wars and famine and crimes) and not care.  Why?  Because they have their boyfriend/girlfriend, they have their ipod, they have their new shoes that they bought, they're going drinking over the weekend, and maybe they'll catch a flick.  If this trend continues, and by 1,000 years time, you'll easily see people being slaves, forced to live in cages and happy about it, just as long as they have dopamine being pumped into their brains.  If there is a man living on another planet in 1,000 years, it is a privileged man, not a common man.

  10. Only if vastly new engine propulsion systems are invented and developed and tested.

And only if a suitable planet can be found close enough to Earth. So far out of the 307 exoplanets found, none would support human life. You need more than just air and water. A multitude of factors would determine whether a planet could sustain human life. Including proper gravity.

If you choose ion propulsion, which does not yet exist, the trip to the nearest star takes 81,000 years.

If you choose nuclear pulse propulsion, which does not yet exist, the trip takes 85 years one way.

  11. No, maybe have a silly space station to rape the planet though, but not really live there like we live on earth

  12. YES we will:)

  13. Man should go live on the moon first, to establish a base outside of earth's gravity well and to prove that Man can survive in an artificial environment. That hasn't been done yet.

It is much cheaper to launch things from the moon. If man can live and breed there, then Man can try to colonise Mars perhaps using materials from the moon or the asteroids to build space vehicles.

Venus is too hot and can't be cooled in 1,000 years. Mercury is too hot and too cold at the same time, Jupiter and Saturn are too big we would be crushed. Uranus and Neptune are too far out for easy life and Pluto is not a planet any more. Man might be able to survive on some of the moons of Jupiter.
