  1. It's a  generalization to say that, there's a broad variety in any group, and being vegetarian doesn't guarantee stamina, strength or vitality of any sort. You could be sitting around eating bread and butter, chips and M&M's all day and still be a vegetarian after all. Generally eating a well-balanced, vegetarian diet and being an active adult should make you stronger and healthier than the average adult, since right now the average American is overweight (and a third are obese), and most don't do any physical activity whatsoever, and nearly all Americans eat more than twice their reccomended animal protein intake (and the government's limits are really, really relaxed anyway because of buckling pressure to food industry insiders - I mean look at their sodium reccomendation, it's at least twice as much as most cardiovascular journals and medical experts would reccomend, and they don't mention it to be the cap off point, but almost like a goal to aspire to - 2,200 mg of sodium! Ha!)

  2. Well last year I bench pressed 160 pounds....not to brag or anything....

Muscles aside, I think it takes a lot of strength to stand up for what you believe in.

  3. I am a vegetarian and I can personally tell you that yes when you are a vegetarian you are healthier. You don't have cholestorol or animal fat clogging up your arteries which make it easier for blood to circulate. Now if you are those vegetarian that eat chips and ice cream all day instad of fruits and veggies than of course you wont be as healthy.

So far its the best decision ive ever made and my body isnt full of a bunch of perservatives and steroids (which most meat is injected with)

  4. I think the old saying goes, you need to make sure you have a balanced diet and excercise. This means you need to eat good carbs, lots of water, whole grains to aid blood flow, and getting the protein  from mostly non animal sources to help aid in muscle strength and recovery. I am sorry to say, but getting some protein from animals that are lean meats like fish or chicken will help achieve optimal health, especially if you don't have your own personal vegetarian chef.

  5. Yes and no, If a vegetarian is perhaps healthy and has more stamina its because they may hunt out healthier alternatives then any meat products, im a vegetarian and i have had more energy from natural iron products such as dried fruits, spinach and mushrooms and my skin has improved a lot but another advantage may be you would steer clear of fast food products!!

    but its definately debatable!!

  6. Yes.  Elephants have.

  7. Not necessarily.  As a vegetarian who is overly fond of pizza I'd say my BMI of 20 is probably due to more body fat than I'd like.  And while I can walk for miles I can't sprint or lift much weight.

So I'd guess vegetarians are as varied in their strength and stamina as any other group of people.

    .

  8. If followed correctly, properly mixing vegetables to as to get complete proteins, as well as a balance of vitamins and minerals, etc. vegetarians can be very strong (see Bill Pearl) as well as exhibit great stamina and endurance

The often derogatory remarks one hears regarding vegetarian eating are made by the beef industry, the poultry industry, etc.

    Be well.

  9. I don't know, I haven't met every vegetarian. No one has.
