Now theres a guy with confidence and character.

I know that he's got more money than he knows what to do with- but still his pride was at stake for what that comentator said about him.

Something about lynching in a back ally-( does she live in the dark ages or what?)

Tiger Woods just shrugs it off- because he knows who he is !

Kids- if you want someone to have as a role model Tigers a perfect example.

  1. YES, learn from the guy....

The golf course is his office, it is his domain.  For all those that say he doesn't have enough fun, isn't 'pleasant" on the course, or needs to be more fan friendly, I say you just don't get it.

The guy is intense on the course, but is not the same off of it.  When he is on the course, it is his JOB to do amazing things with a golf ball - stuff you, I, and most pros can't think up.    He CONCENTRATES on each and every shot, he is thinking this and next shot(s), he is playing chess with his clubs.

His off-course work (Tiger Foundation for example) is great, he is making a business of course design, he MADE Nike golf, he will re-make Gatorade, etc.

So, the short, long and any answer is YES.  Take after Tiger...  Change the rules, dominate from the get-go, re-write all the records.... and do it with class!

  2. I greatly respect his talent and his drive to be excellent, to be the best there is.  As an athlete and golfer he is in a class of his own, and that includes comparisons to the greats of golf history.  He is very likely the best there's ever been - a few more years in chasing Jack Nicklaus' records and we'll see.  One thing you will hear knowledgeable fans say is that his demand for perfection in himself does lend itself to a few "F-bombs" when a shot goes bad, you can hear the odd "G-D" even in some recent telecasts - some former greats, now commentators have even taken him to task for these outbursts.  But this is normal for many golfers, I assure you, so no judgment here.  You can read in interviews with his good friend Michael Jordan that Tiger even likes a dirty joke now and again.  Bottom line, particularly with the news concerning (his friend, regular Golf Channel viewers know this) Kelly Tilghman's poor word choice about Tiger, let's don't forget that all of these folks are not perfect, just human, like the rest of us, only under more scrutiny and frequently on camera for the world to see.

  3. Tiger is a great golfer and there is nobody I like watching more.  For the simple reason that he deals with a lot of media doesn't make him a good role model.  From what many people have said, he isn't a very personable guy.  I can't blame him because he's probably bothered more than any other sports figure out there.  But he is a little bit of a jerk towards people who ask for autographs and such.

I know you can't sign everyone's piece of paper but I think he could be a little more fan-friendly.

  4. Tiger is a great golfer, the whole Kelly Tilghman thing was blown out of proportion.  The guy that wrote the article on it  for yahoo said that he didn't hear what she said to put it in context.  That means the rest of the article was ********, the guy that wrote that article needs to be fired.  Kelly all though she worded it wrong was commenting on how great of a golfer Tiger Woods was.  What was said is Faldo:"The only way these younger players can beat Tiger would be gang up on him."  Tilghman:"Yea they would probley have to lynch him in a backalley or something to beat him in a tournament."  It can be some what racist, but not as racist as it is when people take it out of context like it has been.   She might not be at the Sony Open tommorrow but I doubt she will lose her job at the Golf Channel.

  5. he realized the commentator meant nothing offensive, so he didn't jump to play the race card.  yes, a lot of black people could learn from him, but they probably don't think he's black enough to use as a role model.

  6. Yes i do. I would say copy his every move. I would ask that your kids have a little more fun on the golf course though.
