it was originally designed as a social networking site but just like every other networking site you are gonna have sexual predators using it to find victims, people just need to know that posting too much personal info is a bad idea.

I think it was intended for social lives.  So many people abuse it for all sorts of reasons!  I just think the whole idea is dangerous. It's a playground for sexual predators. Most of the time if your putting yourself out there for the whole world to see, then your just asking for trouble.

Most definitely for socialising. There are next-to-none sexual predators on myspace; truth be told, you are safer on myspace than walking through some streets in New York.

Myspace is for social life but it also depends on the people who use it and what they use it for. Some people (singers and musicians like Jeffree star, and other people who aren't on TV) use myspace probably because it has millions of people. They use it so people can find out about their music. For example, Jeffree Star (myspace.com/jeffreestar) was a crossdresser who did makeup for people like Kelly Osbourne, Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton, Davey Havok and Jessicka from the band Scarling (or old band: Jack Off Jill).Pretty soon, Jeffree started being in music videos like Good Charlotte's The River. Later on, Jeffree star made clothes and hoodies to sell at Hot Topic (which are raked #1 on hottopic.com). Thats how musicians that are not well known get millions of friends on myspace in less than 2 years.

Sorry if its too long, I'm jut showing you that myspace is for more than social life.

Both. However, if you practice safe internet and don't go talking to people saying nasty, sexual things and telling them personal things (address, etc.) then you are fine. If you don't tell them the information, how do you think they get it? Right- they can't.

Socializing for sure! people think myspace is dangerous because there are preditors out there. there are preditors at the park to.

people just need to be smart.

or even your town.
