  1. sometimes.  especially if you're bored.  best bet is to stay occupied.

  2. no, i dig nostalgia. You cannot change history without loooking to the past

  3. i think every generation wants things to be like it was when they were young.  i would love to pick things from different eras. the innocence of the 50's, the excitement of the 60's, patriotism of the 40's, technlogy of today, and all the naked people running around in the prehistoric........whoops, did i say that out loud......bye

  4. Only if it becomes a dominant trait of exclusion.

  5. We all go through life bearing our past, it helps to create the person we are today.

  6. not always.  reminiscence sometimes reminds us of how much we like certain small details

  7. Sometimes it does.   I have that same issue.

  8. I think nostalgia is a very natural part of what you call our 'current life'.  Nostalgia is comforting and pleasant because ... I believe ... we remember selectively.  And that is the essence of nostalgia.  The good times are vividly recalled, the bad times are utterly eliminated.

    It's theraputic.

  9. Not necessarily. Good memories provide a basis for comparison with the present. One can use this to be more selective in what friends and events to enjoy.  Hence, you get more good things out of life.

On the down side, you can waste time trying to re-live the past, which is impossible. It comes down to making intelligent choices.

  10. I think it definitely can.  Sometimes we focus on how good things were way back when and we focus on the conditions, like how old we were or where we were, etc, and we believe that only under those conditions will life be good again.

more often than not, by "we" i meant "I".  it's something i have to get over, obviously

  11. No, it is simply a form of entertainment like any other.  It helps us enjoy life.
