Is there anything we can do (besides vote) as individuals to help the economy or should we just wait to see if our government will fix it?

  1. It always has!  That's the problem with many people.  They expect that he economy will not have "down" periods and then are "surprised" when the economy doesn't do as well as they expected.  It's just the natural "ebb and flow" of economics.

  2. Yes, it will bounce back. I really don't think the President (even a new President) himself can turn it around. It's going to take a lot of things. But, in time it will heal itself. Look at the Great Depression and times such as that. Those times were horrible and everything worked out and rebounded. It's just a matter of time and will take a few years. It's not an overnight process. I'm 29 and this is the second time I've seen the economy fall apart. I'll admit this one is worse than the first one I remember, but it came back and so will this. Take Care!

  3. From what? We still are posting GDP growth. There is been economic growth this quarter due to the tax rebates.

Things will be fine. We just need to weather the storm. We survived the horrid Clinton years, we can survive this slow time.

  4. Voting for sure! I don't believe Government is gonna fix anything. However, I'm optomistic, I think our economy will rebound. History shows us that.

  5. All is well, do not panic.

  6. The government is trying most of the time but really alot if individuals are doing things them selves such as recycling that small thing can be alot of help to the economy so the government will try but if you ask me there's no for sures here

  7. spend your cash on american made products!

  8. The economic situation this country faces is a complex one. However, besides voting, I would advise people to be more fiscally responsible. People shouldn't get themselves into loads of debt, and then expect the government to bail them out. Also, if you are able to, pay cash for items or goods as opposed to financing. Use credit cards only if you know you can pay the bill in no later than two weeks. Save money in savings accounts when you can. Critics suggest that extensive saving during a recession, not investing, can deadlock the economy--meaning nothing coming in, nothing going out. I disagree. Saving will afford you more economic flexibility in times that you most need it. Then, once you are economically stable, you will be able to spend more, invest and help rebuild the economy.

  9. Voting won't do a thing. The economy will rebound in time. There's nothing Obama or McCain could do at this point. Just vote for the right man but don't believe the hype!

  10. Yes, it always rebounds from an adjustment.  The economy has its ups and downs.  Right now we're in a bit of a downward economic pattern. This too shall pass.

If you are a panicked teen or twenty something.....or even thirty something and haven't lived through an economic downturn talk to your parents or grand parents about real economic downturns.

As soon as more Republicans are voted in and can reverse the damage done by the Dems things will get better.

  11. Voting wont help.  None of your answers are really right.  Im sure the Fed will tinker with money supply and interest rates, but this one is a booger.  Its probably giong to come down to mostly waiting for the market to right itself.

  12. The government has never had a program that has been sucessful be it the US Post office, Medicare, or Social Security. The economy will rebound, because it always has. Private business is the key, and small businesses are the answer.

  13. Of course.  However, the speed with which it will do so depends crucially on the economic and taxation policies of the government -- and those proposed by the Democrats are exactly the same policies that created and exacerbated the Great Depression of the 1930's.

  14. Yes it will.  It survived 12 years of Ronnie & DADDY, it will survive eight years of the village IDIOT from Texass.

  15. Government is the main thing hurting our economy

both sides need to accept this

republicans- accept the fact that this war cost money

democrats- accept the fact that our system of taxation and this wealth envy they force down your throat forces jobs overseas so that they can compete in this "global" economy.

to answer your question, No it will not rebound considering the path its heading down IMO

Judging by the answers here, people aren't looking ahead , they're looking into the past.

    Support the FairTax HR-25

If you do the research and educate yourself on this one issue, you will see this is the only answer to saving our economy.

    politics are funny

Bob Barr a Libertarian supports it

so does republican Alan Keyes, Tom Tancredo and Mike Huckabee.

And I have heard rumor that the Democrats support it but are just waiting to they are in full control of the white house and congress before they act on it to get full credit.

Heck, Mike Gravel a democrat supports it.

The only people that doesn't support it are the uninformed, lobbyist, and IRS.
