  1. I wouldn't say he "ruled" the super featherweight division; in addition to losing to Morales, many observers and commentators think Juan Manuel Marquez has beaten Pacquiao twice: http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-ar...

Regardless, I think Pacman will be good at lightweight, but he won't rule it.  He will lose some speed, and the effect of his bread-and-butter power punches won't be as great.  This will happen at the same time that his competition will be bigger and stronger, and their power punches will have more effect on Pacman than his prior opponents.

  2. He'll be one of the top boxers at 135, but not the top boxer.

If Nate Campbell continues to fight as well as he did against Juan Diaz, for the forseeable future then Pacquiao will be hehind him.

He'll likely be behind Juan Diaz himself.  Casamayor also for alittle while.

He'll be in a groupe with guys like Katsidis, Julio Diaz. David Diaz, & Jesus Chavez.

  3. no because he is not mexican.

  4. Well he's moving up to another weight division. And like Woody said, there's gonna be bigger guys that land heavier punches, and his fighting style may not suite in that weight division. But hey you just never know.

  5. maybe not. But let's just see him fight a caliber guy like juan diaz. Pretty sure that's a good test. If he does good with that fight, well maybe he can dominate the lightweight. Campbell and casamayor are old but experienced enough to take those hard shots of pac, but who knows?? Pac is also steel-chinned, even his overall defense is always questioned. I think he better fight marquez first before going 135. But here he is, trying to get another title to an easy opponent, he's gonna win it, but to less remorse.

  6. paquiao got stunned by marqeuz a couple of times and marquez dont have that much power. so the bigger guys will pretty much give him lots of problems

  7. no!

  8. Thats funny.  He didnt exactly "rule" the 130 lb division.  He lost to Erik Morales and got two gift decisions against Marquez.  Then again maybe he could.  To do that is not that hard.

  9. He will run it easy because he is a beast that we have not seen the likes of in a long time. I am in awe of his fights. A man's man if I as a fight fan ever saw one. Leave the judging with your fist. Bring on the 135 pounders now...

  10. I hate to say it, but I really don't think he'll run the lightweight division like he did the super featherweight division. Pacquiao is stepping up in a weight class where he'll find fighters who are bigger and have more powerful punches. With Pacquiao's style of fighting, he can't continue to run divisions that are significantly higher than his natural division. Sooner or later someone at 135 will defeat him, unless he becomes more of the boxer than a slugger/puncher. Pacquiao has been knocked out before (twice) and at 130 Juan Manuel Marquez has stunned him a couple of times, so just imagine what the bigger and stronger fighters can possibly do. Joel Casamayor, just naming one, could easily cause problems for Pacquiao.

  11. No way hes a beast in the lower divison but moving up is not easy work, dont get me wrong tho he will be up there with the top guys but he wont be numero uno in 135.

  12. no. it's the worst decision he made next to running for congress.

he will clearly beat david diaz but that's all.

better stay as a featherweight and fight valero to prove his worth.
