  1. Well sure..All the word means is "black".

But, the real word is "n e g r o" which is the spanish word for black.

the ni(double g)er version is slang for "n e g r o".. and it's used to degrate African Americans..But If it was just a slang word, not to bring down the African American culture, then yeah, I think it should be allowed.

It's how people choose to put it into context. If people are more likely to use it insultingly, than to address African Americans in a polite manner, than no, I don't think it should be allowed to say, otherwise, if people can use it respectfully, then yes.

    My opinion, though.

  2. i think the n word is such a crock of c**p, i get offended black people say it too! im mixed and hurt my feelings that black people are free but still slaves!

  3. Well I am white or caucasian but I hate the ''N'' word... I would call people who are dark skinned ''African Americans or ''Black people. the ""N'' word does sound like a stigma I put on people because of their skin color.. the Chinese are not the Yellow people either.. they are Asians... I believe in respecting other peoples skin color and race and I believe they should respect their own race and talk of themselves as either black people or African Americans.. or black Africans wherever they live.... x

  4. no

  5. I hate hearing it from anyone.

  6. I wish it wasn't allowed. Its horrid and sounds aggressive to me.

It doesn't matter what colour you are to me, it offends me.

  7. It sounds funny whether with an "a" or "er" at the end...  The first time ever I was called the "er" was when I lived in the economically depressed/socially retarded city of Orlando.  At first I was taken aback, then I laughed; because the stupid woman had no other insult to hurl (after all it is Orlando, how smart do you expect the people to be?).

It probably shouldnt be uttered by anyone - but it shoall is funny when it is...

  8. I think all racial slurs should be banned! No matter who they are, it starts at home, kids hearing this word start repeating it with their friends and so on and so on. I've had my share of racial slurs thrown at me throughout my life and it really starts wearing off once it's ignored, however, there are those who just hate  and cannot grow out of this because of their environment, and beliefs that were instilled in them throughout their lives. To those who get away from this bad behavior, I say bravo!! However, what sort of leisure are they in to promote the use of this word? I thought leisure was fun, not making fun.

  9. I do not think black people should start crying over white people using the term if they themselves use it freely and carelessly. Not all black people do this but I hear a LOT of them throw the word around every 2 sentences.

It doesn't help that music artists today use it and encourages kids and teens to say it. What would happen if a white rapper like Eminem started saying it so much in his rap? Not good. I say all or none use it.

  10. absolutely NOT. I say get rid of the word!

there is nothing positive about that word at all.  Its time we bring back the english language and speak properly.

fyi-I'm neither white or black either.  I'm mexican

  11. It should be banned from public use by all, the way "Seig, heil!", "Heil, Hitler" and the "Hackenkreuze" (German for "Swastika") are banned in the Federal Republic of Germany, a very democratic society.

It is an instrument of hate. Admittedly Richard Pryor helped desensitize America to it slightly in 1976 with the hilarious album "That N is Crazy!" (Anybody remember his "Miss Rudolph and her 'da monkey  liv here' monologue)?  He was helping Black and White America laugh together at themselves, and it was a cathartic growth spurt for the two races,  but sadly that era is over.

An ugly word.  Let's get rid of it.  But who am I kidding?  It's replacement doubtless lies beckoning in the wings backstage.

  12. Only if they don't mind if people just casually whip the c**p out of 'em when they do it?

or if it doesn't bother them that they may be putting their job at risk when they are getting written up if someone reports them for racial harassment?

or they want the WORLD to think they are some illmannered lout who has to use racial slurs to call attention to what they say?

Sure, use that word ... if you want to lose any sort of credibility whatsoever with intelligent people anytime, anywhere!

  13. Yes I do.  Especially in America.  I may not care for the word but that doesn't mean you don't have a right to express it.  Of course if you white and use it you should not be upset if you're called a redneck cracker honky klan whitey etc.

  14. what is the point of using terminology like that at all?

  15. No word should be banned! But then I also read banned books. Any word can be spoken on such as manner as to cause hurt.

  16. ONLY IF ITS IN A FRIENDLY MANNER.

yeah, times are different now. mind you, being a white woman, id feel pretty uncomfortable going up to a black woman and saying "hey 'n'", but if one feels comfortable doing so, then all the power to them.

ONLY IF ITS IN A FRIENDLY MANNER.

  17. Allowed by whom?

I think the N-word should be used sparingly, and only under very limited circumstances.
