Question:

Do you think that people who sell aluminum cans are poor?

I was thinking of taking in my aluminum cans to a recycling facility to get the 70 cents per pound (or whatever the price is) just so I can have some money to save, instead of just practically give the cans to Veolia (the company in my area that takes picks up garbage and recycling) so they can sell the cans.

I make enough money to make ends meet without having to use credit cards or anything like that so I'm not going to starve to death or anything if I don't sell them. It would just be nice to be able to save up for a new car and a new computer more quickly.

Yes, I am well aware that I'm not going to get much money from selling cans.

  1. you get like 2 bucks 4 a pound well then again I'm form southern California

and its not poor some ppl just are short in cash cuz ppl are having hard times with gas and all

  2. i don't think people that sell cans are poor they just know how to get a little bit of extra money and not to be mean but obviously you don't make enough money like you said you do because you would have a new car and new computer....well i think you should go head and sell your cans it wont hurt you plus you helping nature by recycling =]

  3. Recycling aluminium cans or any other type of materials is not just for poor people.  It includes people who do not want to trash the planet by adding more to landfills and people who, by principle, do not want to lose any money for unecessary reasons (since you are charged a deposit fee when you purchase drinks that come in aluminium cans).

At the minimum, even if you do not recycle it yourself, do not throw it in the trash.  Adding to the landfills gives your children and their children more problems to deal with.

  4. nope. they are smart and good to the environment.
