  1.   I do not have braces but I am about to.  I have asked MANY people about them and they all say the same thing....  They hurt the first couple of days pretty bad but once you get used to them they are ok.....  I think it is worth it.  My teeth are pretty bad so I feel it will be worth it in the end.  I saw a girl getting hers put on and the painted her teeth with a glue substance and then started putting the wires on.  Good Luck!!!!  I will be worth it in the end!!!!

  6. I am 28 and got braces 3 weeks ago.  I really like them.  My teeth were sore for a few days but nothing unbearable. The worst was that it felt like I was wearing those fake Halloween teeth since I wasn't used to having braces on my teeth. You get used to it though and now it just feels normal.

Braces are definitely worth it. Don't worry too much.

P.S. Added  benefit for me-I have lost 10 lbs since getting braces...

  7. Ask your doctor if your condition can get worse. If so, you ay want to consider it.

  8. BRACES HURT BUT IF THEY SEE THAT BRACES IS TO MUCH PAIN FOR YOU THEN THEY WILL MAKE YOUR MOUTH NUM SO YOU WONT BE ABLE TO FEEL WHAT THERE DOIN

  9. Rest your thumb against a tooth for 15 seconds or so, thats all it is.

The one 'pain' when the pressure is on and the other 'pain' when you remove your thumb. Thats all you will feel, yes sometimes its all your teeth at once some times just one or 2.

I didn't mind braces at at all. I love the result.

The very worst part of it was when they put the spacers in between my back teeth for a few days to give enough space for the ring like brace peices to fit on (the back ones go all the way around your teeth, the front ones are just glued on). If you can handle that pain the rest is a cake walk.

After they get them on, they just take a different size wire (depending on stage and stuff) and rubber band it to the pieces glued on your teeth.

My only suggestions, take very good care of you teeth, its easy to get cavities under the brace pieces. Eat before you go in for adjustments. Black bands actually look the best and for goodness sake wear the retainer when its all over. I moved overseas and forgot to bring mine with me, mom couldn't find it to mail it to me and many of my teeth moved back.
