  1. I think that the Republicans want to avoid the issues and turn the campaign into a moral referendum.

They "preach" much better than they "practice".

  2. Considering that it has been official policy for the last eight years, and has shown no effect on the rates of teen pregnancy/abortion, I think it should definitely be a topic.

Those who wish to lower those rates should consider adopting a program that teaches effective contraception as well as the various benefits of abstinence.

Maybe those in favor of abstinence-only education should buy cars with governors that will not permit them to exceed the speed limit, ever.  25 in a school zone, 45 on the two-lane back home, 65 on the highway.  Or we can educate ourselves about the dangers and penalties for speeding.

  3. NO!  Our personal lives are not public property!

I am very sick of certain people insisting that personal belief systems are political game!

s*x, and religion are NOT something that should be mandated!

  4. Yeah, it's gonna be, but it don't work too good

  5. Abstinence only education is extremely retarded. Imagine if fire fighters were only taught how to change the batteries of a smoke detector.

  6. Maybe in Amish communities, but lets face facts, s*x today can lead to things it didn't back when we were kids, like HIV, and AIDS. I think its the parents responsibility to tell their children these things, but some parents choose not to out of ignorance, and/or embarrassment, so the schools should have the right to educate the students on the dangers of unprotected s*x and the benefits of remaining abstinent.

Teenagers are going to have s*x, I want them to have all the knowledge they can so they can make an informed decision and prevent them from becoming an AIDS statistic.

    Blue Collar for McCain

  7. In all schools in the country I live in we are all taught s*x and family planning education. So you never see young teenage girls pushing prams or any unwed mothers on welfare. Also we don't have abortion clinic's, or unwanted children left in Orphanages. Or have high teen STD or HIV rates or epidemics either.
