Given the results of last weekend I think it's futile to be even having this discussion as last weekend proved that anything can happen in rugby.

Let's say, for the sake of it, that France do beat England and Argentina get past a rusty looking SA.

In that case I'd go for Argentina in the final.

I would love England to win but my head says they will be beaten by the French. But then my head said the Aussies would beat England so there is hope yet. I can't believe England have got this far after an appalling 12 months. So perhaps there is a chance of an enormous upset. I really, really would like England to knock the frogs out of their own tournament.

Just listen to your question. Before the quarter finals did you think either France or England have a chance to reach the semis? Well they did. Heres what I think: France will beat England, because they have home advantage and because they have more faith in running the ball. Heres what I hope will happen. The pressure will be too much for the French. They played well against New Zealand because they were away from home and nobody expected them to win. But now back on home ground the pressure might just get to them. If its a tight game expect Jonny and his men to truimph however if its an open game the French will win.

South Africa will beat Argentinia in the other semi. I thik they got a wakeup call against Fiji and this weekend they will want to prove that they can be the winners of the most prestigous trophy in rugby. In the Final: If it is South Africa and France it can really go either way but i thik the men in green might just take it. If its South Africa vs England, no doubt South Africa will take it. They simply have too much power and wont let the English dominate them at rucks or scrums. They have the best lineout and have built a good backline over the last few years.

Interesting to note. In every worldcup so far the champions never lost a game in their pool. The only 2 teams left undefeated is South Africa and Argentinia. If by some miracle Argentinia beat South Africa (I will eat my pants) then I thik Argentinia will take it.

But my money is on the Bokke.
