I'm watching Antique Roadshow and I'm always amazed at the things people created in the past few centuries...and everything is so "refined". Do you think we've lost that?

  1. Yes...and No.

I don't think people have exactly LOST their creativeness but we have put that creativity somewhere else and we have lost the ability to actually DO things like that.

Back then, some of the most luxurious things to have was fancy work on tables, furniture and extras. It was like this because it took so LONG to make them and it was hard. Only the richest could actually afford them. But now, we have machines to make all that stuff for us. It is still nice to have, but, I mean, almost anyone could get them now. No, what we want now is technology. We put our creative uses into making phones, iPods, computers and little technical things that make our lives that little bit better.

It's true, most of us have really lost the ability to make that type of stuff with our hands, but the creativity we used to make it is now designing slick, shiny new mobiles.

  5. do i ever

  6. No. Computers are a tool, and can be used very creatively.

  7. No.

Computers are not creative in and among itself.

Rather, the amount of refinement in anything, be it from a building face, to quality hand made items, has not been extinguised.

Instead, many have chosen to adopt less stringent standards of quality for cost saving measures.
