I no it sounds non-believeable but, do you really think scientists would mix human and animal DNA together to create a hybrid? Well with science the way it is today, why not? I mean if you think about it there are ALOT of unknown things scientists are doing nowadays that its kinda scary. Also people might say that doing it is wrong and such but if you think about something else we are animals. I believe "human or humans" is just a word we created to make ourselves at the top of all species. Thinking about this topic don't anyone think its possible? I no that mixing an animal DNA with ours simple wont mix or do anything BUT, the future is coming fast and new technology is appearing and older ones are advancing. So i guess what i'm asking is, "What do you think about the thoughts of scientists creating Hybrid people in the near future?"

  1. I think it is possible, maybe scientists are already trying to do that.

But whether it is morally wrong or not, it defies nature, and that is something definitely wrong. I mean, not defying gravity and things like that, but these are actual lives that are being created. It's like forcing things that were not designed to be together by nature, in the form of survival and evolution, to join.

And when genetic engineers tried to make "mutants", all of them died. They were simply not able to survive. Genetic engineering doesn't make creatures better, it makes them weak. I think this shows that creatures are not meant to be modified. Especially not by stupid little humans.

  2. We pretty much have the technology to do it today.  The mapping of the human genome is nearly complete and we could (right now, today) start creating 'mutant' human DNA that would result in people with more strength, speed, intelligence, etc. etc.  But there may also be downsides to those experiments due to 2'nd and 3'rd  (and higher) order effects of which are totally ignorant.  And everybody in the DNA research world is aware of that.  I think it will be a very long time before we start tinkering with our own DNA.

  3. I think that if its not already possible now it will be within the next decade.  I think, however, you may have overlooked some of the problems this could cause.

What if we made a species that was 99% human and 1% elephant and found it to be capable of lots of heavy labor.  Would it then be ok for us to create a whole race of these and use them as slaves (like we already use animals) or would we give them human rights?

At what point are they human and at what point animal.  This DOES matter because for most people it is morally ok to breed animals for work and food but we would be n***s if we did the same with people.

It doesn't matter what faith you are, it would be a huge dilemma if we had some creature that may or may not be human.
