Do you think that spirits can "influence" people?

Question

Some people say that spirits can't possess people...so I'm wondering if they can believe that spirits can "influence" people. If you do believe this..will you say in what way you think they can do this.Give some examples please. Thanks.

I beleive spirits can not only influence people but some can possess people without them knowing.I know i can do spirit writing and a lots of times i say things in a language i dont understand.If you don"t reconise spirits they try other ways to get your attention like trying to write something or making people talk in the spirits language.I stopped doing spirit writing as most of it i could not understand and it seemed like they were trying to tell the furture events.I will not do channeling or hynosis.I would be affraid as to what language i would be talking in.Some of the language i speak i beleive maybe a old language like mayan ,Latin or ancient egyptian.If someone is found to speak languages like this and there is no natral way they could haver learned thoses languages within there life time than there is a good possibility that they are infact channeling spirits from hudreads even thousands of years old.I was given a whole list of latin names that do not exsist in the modern or ancient text.

spirits and ghost cannot possess.  Only demonics possess and even then it is quite a process, since what power they have are essentially fed or strengthened by the chaos that they caused initially.

As far an influence I suppose that would be one way of putting it.  If you had a spirit around that you were aware of, then it might influence you to do or not to do something based on the spirit activity.

We are all the sum of all our experiences.  So any run in with a spirit, ghost, or haunting has to have an influence on some level even if a person  denies  the event.  I know that I would be a totally different person, I surely would not be here now.  I'm not sure about the whole possession thing, I think it may be a cop out people use to cover for their bad behavior.

Spirits only have power only if we allow them to.  If someone can be easily persuaded mentally, then there is a possibility that the "actions" of a spirit can & will effect the persons' emotions.

Example:  We live close to a very old cemetary.  I have been there a few times to investigate some claims of activity in & around it.  Since I am sensative to this type of activity, I notice that figures, sounds & movement of items on the deck.  These would go on for several days, as if trying to get my attention.  Altho, feeling sympethic to them for some reason, I have NOT invited them in to MY space.  Being taunted, as if to come see me & talk, I have not done so.  The sensation or need is incredibally strong & hard to fight, but not giving in & standing my ground.  

It is all about control of your own emotions & feelings, that is the key.

In my opinion, people who believe in things such as spirits will blame spirits for something they have done.  This is not to say they are seeking a scapegoat.  It could also be because they don't understand why they would do something so seek a paranormal motivation for their actions.  Naturally, it's all after the fact.

Yes i am afraid they can influence people, i do believe in possession as well. I fyou have anegative energy dwelling in your home you can without knowing take on that same energy and become negative,moody,un sociable and hurtful in ways without realising it. Alot of houses with negative energies tend to possess children as they are open souls and are vulnerable compared to adults. Mind you it is possible for yourself to bring a negative energy to you own home with out knowing as well.

The answer is Yes they can......If it wasn't for such a beautiful compassionate spirit like my spirit guide Erica, that God sent to help me after that prayer for help and protection in my times of need, to encourage me, inspire, gentleness, compassion, I am not sure I would be here today writing this.

When you have a spirit that comes continually, holding your hand, rubs you back, speaks in a gentle beautiful voice like an angel when your spirit is hurt and broken, it does help, especially when at the time there was no one else that could help. It does something to you, you thank God for listening and answering your prayer. Yes I was a bit scared at first, and I did tell her to leave me alone at first, but she knew I was hurting. She was positive for these four years now and still she comes and looks in and holds my hand. So my answer is spirits can influence when they continue to show you their true colors.

Yes. They can influence you.

It depends how the question is interpreted.

Spirits may influence you by your reaction to them...  scared, frightened, worried, etc My example: If you see a spirit for the first time you will have a reaction to that experience....

So in other words I feel that a spirit may be able to influence your emotions.

Obviously spirits may affect all of us die hard yahoo ppl that look at the para normal section as we tend to be talking about these experiences... so saying that I tend to think that these spirits may affect our way of way of life perception. You either believe in them or you don't.
