I hear posters talking about family members etc. appearing on the date they died or on their birthday etc. I guess if they can see..they can also read a calendar. Or do you think they hear people talking about these certain dates/days and think,"If I appear now...maybe they'll realize it's really me and that I'm still here."?Why do you think they let themselves be known on these special days..and do they really know what day it is?

  1. Times and dates? What a silly question everyone knows that no one has ever proved that time and dates exist.

Sure you can read a calendar but there are lots of fiction books that are very popular.

I will go ahead and conjecture that such things as time and dates exist. OK, if a spirit appears to you on one these particular dates and a particular time one then asks does this mean anything.

No of course not you are just remembering this particular appearance of the spirit and forgetting about all the other times they appeared not on this date and time. This is known as confirmation bias. You do this because you want the date and time to be meaningful not just to you but to the spirit as well.

    Edit:   ;)

  2. yeah, i saw a ghost in my house the other day and he was wearing a rolex.  it may have been a fake, i couldnt tell, but either way, it was a watch.

  3. Its hard to say..Yes i have been told of some experiences...a friend who lost her husband...had strange stuff happening on the morning of his birthday..Her sons birthday...

A couple of valentines day ago...say 3 years ago, i was sitting in my kitchen painting some angels..i had music playing, and i felt someone was there, standing there watching me paint..I kept jumping..My sister who came over a bit later felt it to...and we were both jumping at something / someone who was standing there...could of being someone astrally..... But i find most of my ghostly encounters from people i know happen, straight after their death...and then soon vanish..to be felt or seen no more.......I have heard alot of stories where ones spirit will visit on a special date......

  4. Don't know, but perhaps the Gregorian Calandar is in perfect alignment with the entire universe, spiritual and physical.

Which would explain why we replaced the Julian calandar in the 1500s. With the Julian calandar you could only predict the appearance of spirits within a couple of weeks.

    Thats just guess.

More realistically people are thinking of thier dead relatives on these dates and are looking for signs of them to appear. When we look hard enough for something we can often find it, even if its not there.

  5. I believe they have a different concept of time than we do. But that most of them are in tune with those of us left behind and when they know we are remembering them or thinking about them, is when they try to find someway of letting us know. And they usually try to find something that we will link it to so we know who was around.

  6. There is a rare time where a haunting could possibly be what is considered an Intelligent Haunting.

Which simply means that actual human spirits that had not crossed over into heaven and had some unfinished business with a living person, or a message they wanted to deliver before they could move on. The spirit is either so emotionally connected to his loved ones that he refuses to pass, or his death happened so quickly that he has not yet realized he is dead, and thus continues to live as though he were not. These ghosts will unlock doors and open windows, run the faucets and even interact with you directly because they are an "intelligent" presence, the personality of a person who was once alive but has stayed behind rather than passing over.

Events however, may accrue at certain times that would coincide with the actual death.

  7. Who are they and what do they want your not crazy they live there just like you fine out why then put them at peace

  8. I'm going to go into conjecture mode here -- if a spirit exists after death, it's supposedly immortal so wouldn't time be meaningless to it?

You bring up another interesting question -- can spirits see? They don't have physical eyes, so light waves cannot be intercepted by their ghost corneas, so there's no way for them to see in any sense that we are familiar with. Along those same lines, they don't have eardrums which vibrate from impinging sound waves, so spirits cannot hear in any way that we would be familiar with.

Perhaps the answer to your question as to why spirits appear at certain times is because certain living people are expecting to "experience" them at that time, and expectation leads to heightened awareness and also greater power of suggestion.

Edit: LOL, sorry Deenie about the fingernails, but physically speaking, spirits would not be able to see or hear. If they have those types of senses in the spirit world, it would be by a means that we simply have no way of knowing about. We could imagine them having these senses, but we wouldn't have any way to actually know if they do or not.

  9. >nope, once your dead, a thousand years is nothing more than a blink of an eye. from the bible. place memory

  10. I don't see why not--they know who to go see after they have passed--like friends and family, and the soul of a person is probably the same after death, so I think that it's likely. I don't think it really matters to them, but people who are alive on Earth have a very real awareness of time and dates, and I think that the spirits communicate in ways they now we will understand.

  11. yes i mean i felt like someone was following me when it was my grandfather's funeral.creepy but true and i thought i saw him after his funeral.true

  12. I think spirits see things as energy/light & the concept of time is a man made.

  13. i think those that have passed over have a different concept of time when they are there, but, also do remember certain dates that were important to them in their past lifetime as well.
