  1. yes it looks that way

  2. Well i know that decisions which go against America will certainly be a bad decision on the judges behalf, this is the way it's always been with American's and loosing.

  3. Yes, in gymnastics they robbed the American in 4th place from bronze. Even on the news, the famous Bella Caroli said that it was the biggest 'rip off'' that he has seen in some 20+ years.

  4. I think they have been inconsistent in Gymnastics, not necessarily FOR or AGAINST anyone.  Just not quite on par with International judging.  Maybe it is the new scoring system, I don't know.

  5. Absolutely. It's very typical in sports for referees and officials to try to please the home crowd - that's exactly what is going on. I was watching gymnastics tonight and the Chinese girl's 2nd try was a disaster, she landed akwardly on her knees!!!!! Her score was almost the same as the American girl's, who took a small extra step. Then, the girl from Korea - one foot landed out of bounds, the other she took a huge step with - and she got a higher score than the USA girl! It was disgusting to watch. I had to change the channel and wait for a sport where there aren't biased judges sitting there waiting to s***w us.

  6. Not at all - but it helps to understand the judging.

Again, the judges can only affect the B score, now here is the kicker.

Vault 2 of last nights final.

The judges awarded Alicia Sacramone 9.525 for her execution and landing (on her feet)

For Cheng Fei, they gave her 8.550 as she was not straight and landed on her knees.

How is that giving China a good score?

  7. Yeah its because of the new scoring system of gymnastics that confuses many people, now judges watch the replay and the score will be a balance between execution and difficulty, so even if you stuff up the excution, but the routine you choosed happen to be very difficult, you can still have some relatively decent points; since China is one of the most dominant country in gymnastics its not unusually if their routines have very high difficulty, so even if they have a fall or something they may still score higher than others. They also have some new thing about the pre/post routine positions, I'm not sure about this one but that how that Russian girl got a 0 for her second vault jump yesterday.

  8. we know when the Americans lose they must protest at the winners..if they cant prove it then they would say the judges are biased..or even say the scoring system is ...the air is...the weather is...the time is...my *** is ...my mom is....endless. Shame on them~~

  9. Absolutely!! It's very evident in Women's and Men's gymnastics, though I don't know about other sports. Yet, I did hear that there were a lot of questionable calls in boxing.

  10. In certain sports (like gymnastics), the home country always has an advantage, due to the sway of the crowd.  The 99% Chinese crowd cheers for the Chinese gymnastic team.  The judges don't like disagreeing with the crowd.

This has benefited America before.  It benefits China now.

For non-subjective sports, I'm not sure they can really cheat people...

  11. i definitely dont think they're playing favourites here because the chinese gymnastics team did a MUCH BETTER job than the americans! that's a fact. anyone would agree with me.

  12. i don't think its playing favorites necesarrily, i i just think that with the whole new scoring system, everyone is getting used to it. instead of combining everything and going out of a 10, they decided to seperate it, and people dont understand that. its a good way of doing things though. you cant say that they are favoring china in everything bc womens floor they both lost. its just china has the difficulty and pretty much the whole way through they have been solid, and other teams have made mistakes.
