Do you think that the GWS forum has changed since you joined and if so is it for better or worse and in what way?

What would you change about Yahoo Answers?

  1. Nothing has changed.

If I could advocate a change it would be to change the feature that gets us violations without appeal.

    Edit : Thanks Mr.Celtish !

  2. Its pretty much the same & goes through phases of 'delete wars'. I never used to  block anyone, but since I've had my account deleted last week I block anyone I think might even think of reporting my questions & answers.

Change? I would change the deletion policy so that it was not possible to censor or delete anything. I don't mind what people say - I can wipe the floor with any feminist here whether they want to debate or trade insults - but freedom of expression is important and too many immature people on G&WS only value freedom of expression when they are the ones doing the expressing.

  3. Not at all. I've been here for a year now.

It's exactly the same. Only less trolls, or more intelligent trolls than before. That's it.

What would I change? I would make it so that you have to be a level 5 or higher to report someone. I would also not allow questions or answers to be deleted without someone from Yahoo Answers actually READING THEM.

  4. I just wanted to say that Mike T has some good ideas as i'm sure YA doesn't read complaints.

  5. not really except for the mass deletions, so in that a lot of folks have always been uptight, but only recently has it got to the point that deletions are becoming a norm and over even the littlest things.

  6. I'm answering in reverse order for reasons that should be apparent.

I would change Yahoo! Answers to have clear guidelines on what DOES constitute each topic.  For instance, does a question about "GWS" constitute Gender & Women's Studies or does it constitute a question about Yahoo! Answers?  Which category would it go in?

However, when I first joined Yahoo! Answers, I could actually enter the Gender & Women's Studies category to answer questions that were about Gender & Women's Studies.  There weren't any potshots at feminists, there weren't any "board games" being played, no random survey that had NO best answer as it was a survey, and there were quite a bit more men who actually supported the Women's Liberation Movement.

Whatever happened to it all, I don't know.  I call it the "YA" decay.

  7. yes its policed in a more heavy handed manner and too many people who are thin skinned have way too much input. In other words its become a militant Politically correct Liberal zone where censorship is common place.
