  1. Agree

  2. agree & disagree ----- still a long way to go. There is no doubt it has had an affect on the circulation but people reading on the internet have proportionally increased as well.

Not to mention News Channels as well, a lot of new channels are propping up on the internet.

You've seen the affect during the Primaries, youtube did a lot damage to the candidates, people were finally able to look beyond fox news, blogs provide a platform for independent opinions.

More importantly it is becoming harder to spin news & use it as a tool for propaganda.

  3. newspapers for the most part committed suicide...the timing was just coincidental!

  4. The only newspapers that are suffering as a result of the Internet were newspapers that weren't doing any real reporting in the first place. No one wants to pay for AP content scattered with lots of ads.

Newspapers that do actual reporting, like the New York Times and the Guardian, are doing better as a result of the Internet. Newspapers that did nothing but reprint AP stories are seeing their readership drop because technology has deprecated their model of essentially doing nothing.

If your newspaper is doing real journalism, the Internet can only help it. If not, the Internet is a threat to its very existence.

  5. i disagree, I still love my newspaper.....
