Do you think that the NHL organization favors the Eastern Conference?

It seems to me that they do. They seem to promote players of the Eastern conference more than the West. There are many reasons but I just wanted to see if I was the only one who saw this or thought of this.

Also, why do you think this is, if you think the same way I do. Or why not if you don't.

  1. i dont think so because the eastern league has way better players and big name players

  2. Yes.

  3. its the players not the conference

  4. No,

  5. No. However I guess where you live may have something to do with it. I live in Toronto but I get ALL the NHL games and watch the vast majority of them all. From what I have seen it is pretty balanced. One other thing you have to remember is that a HUGE portion of the NHL population is in the eastern conference area, so naturally the media coverage will be greater because of this.

  6. the main hockey markets are in the east.  Toronto, Montreal, New york and so on.  And the east just has an advantage mainly because teams don't have to travel as much.  Most of the teams are clustered in the north east.  This is one of the reasons why there's more big name players in the east too because of the lighter travel schedules play a factor in free agent signings.  Just ask wayne gretzky about the los angelas kings travel schedule

  7. No

  8. The fact is that the Eastern Confrence has more celabrated players. They have Crosby, Ovechkin, and Brodeur leading them.
