Back in the 1970s the state of california enforced a 55mph law on most of it's freeways to help conserve gasoline. The California highway system was originally designed to allow motorists to travel at speeds of up to 85 miles per hour. But at that time, 85 mph was way too fast, and wasted too much gas. In the 1990s California raised the speed limit to 65 miles per hour because the price of gas was really cheap. Now that we are going through another gasoline crisis, do you think that the state of california is going to bring back the old 55mph speed limit law on most of it's highways?

  1. I don't think that it's very likely, to be totally honest with you. The government seems to depend on us using all this oil so that they can have some kind of legitimacy for this "War on Iraq". They want the oil, there's no doubt about that. It's a huge conflict of interest. Besides, when is the last time that you heard the government really doing something to help solve the little people's problems?

  2. It could hajppen in California...

  3. Probably not because, unlike the 1970's, cars today get their best fuel economy at 60-65mph instead of 50 mph.

Also, we're not going through a gas crisis like in the 1970's where we had to conserve fuel. We're not lining up at gas stations on specific days according to your license plate number, or anything. The fuel is there, it's just high priced.

  4. I hope not some drivers!!!!!Awwww.
