Do you think that the War in Georgia will get worse than this, involving US military?

Things on Georgia are looking bad and the US is involve on it trying to make a diplomatic solution on both sides Russia and Georgia. For now there has not been a full answer from any side, they seem to be to occupied figthing each other. If this goes to a full out war is the US military(goin to war)gona take part on the side of his ally Georgia to attack Russia or is this gona end in a diplomattic solution.

Russia, under Putin, has long been picking up a fight against Georgia.Their leaders have this cold war mentality that they can just make everyone around them their sattelite country.

A forceful deplomacy, accompanied with some US maneuvering off the black sea, could work to send a clear message to the bolsheviks that they have to behave.

Right now Ukrain, a country that is far too superior than Georgia, is flexing its muscle.

Lets see what would be the attidute of the Russians on this one.

I think the US put alot of bases over there in Georgia in an effort to contain Russia and control oil supplies. Now Russia is tearing up Georgia, probably to destroy those bases as well. I would not be surprised. The US was planning to use those bases to attack Iran. I doubt that the US would get involved militarily. The US has not fought a fully armed opponent since Vietnam or before.

Russia has been warning for almost a year that they would have to resort to military force - if the Americans continued to move twords their doorstep in a NATO expansion

They have warned repeatedly that the shield concerns them and that a military response was being forced by the US

The Americans claim that it is a defensive shield - the Russians have called it the "Cuban missile crises" as far as they were concerned and that the shield provided the Americans a safe place to lobe missiles at them and that reduces their "deterrent" capabilities

The Russians responded by resuming bomber patrols - the Americans shrugged that off

The Russians responded by tearing up the "conventional forces treaty" the Americans said who cares Russia is broke and aged

The Russians then spread a rumor that they would rekindle air refueling bases in Cuba for long range nuclear bombers - Only later to say no we won't do that -

But then Venezuala and that nut bar Chavez asks Russia to establish a base in his nation to protect him against the "evil Americans"

The invasion of Georgia should not be a surprise to the US but no doubt Bush and his crew will claim to be surprised - the truth is this has been warned planned threatened and so forth for more than a year

The US just hasn't been listening and made it plain they did not care

The US had hopes that by argravating Russia in the formally eastern blocked nations they could move them away from their stance with Iran

It didn't work - this has been a carefully staged play

Bush is in China - China is an ally to Russia and increasingly dependent on Iranian oil with Russia and China wish to protect -

Bush will get little help from China as the US becomes more dependent on Chinese loans - hmmm

Bush is bogged down in Iraq - needs Chinese money and now has a problem with Russia

This could turn into a mess

If the US and Russia go toe to toe the world as we know it is over -

Bush shelves the shield - and backs off Iran - maybe there is wiggle room with the Russians

If America thinks that is too big a price we can hope the Russians back down to Bush

The Russians are a real threat - but then the Americans are also a real threat as well and I hope no one gets themselves into a position they feel they can't back down from

The next few weeks are going to be very very important

Georgia has got 82 Tanks

Russia has got 6,717

Georgia has got 7 combat aircraft

Russia has got 1,206

Georgia has 26,000 military personell

Russia has 641,000

Georgia has 95 heavy artillery pieces

Russia has 7,550

Game over....

JAY T: georgia didnt bomb its own city Tskhinvali (S. Ossetia), while civilians were there, we only bombed the russian soldiers. Dont accuse us in killing no women and children. if any of u guys at least know one georgian family you would know how much respect we have for women. never has anyone heard of a georgian killing a child or a woman because thats just so  bad that everyone would turn against u. if some georgian soldier went crazy and ran over someone with a tank, im sure our own guys already dealt with him. us georgians dont have time to write things on yahoo answers because theres a war going on right now and russians with the ossetians are using this to give u false information. i know i cant prove anything im saying, u just have to follow common sense. someone already posted both sides military capabilities, u do the math.

Georgia deserves to be punished for its n**i, violent actions against S. Osetia. Georgians have burned houses, churches, hospitals, schools, they have shot and killed over 1k people, they have slit throats of old innocent people, women, children. Americans are being fed the wrong information because of the alliance with Georgia. Russians have took military actions to protect innocent Osetians.
