Question:

Do you think that the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Mexico could have anything to do with UFOs there?

I know this is far fetched and skeptics will probably say it's because the people there are overly religious and have over active imaginations. But, thousands of people have reported the apparitions and also thousands have reported UFOs. I just wondered why both seem to happen there so much.

  1. maybe because they are more passionate, and are a poor country to give them hope for the future?

  2. Very intresting Deenie, but I do not believe the two corelate. Most Mexicans seem to be Catholic and  that is not raciest by any means b/c I just finished a class on religion, so nobody accuse me of .....whatever. But in my opinion people seem to feed off each other and almost make themselves believe something that did not happen actually happen, or their strong belief almost makes them interpret what they want to see. This however does not mean I do not believe in God or that it had actually did not happened. I above most people should know better. I had a life changing experience with God when I was about 4 months shy of 18.

I have heard someone say that aliens are angels though I do not believe it. That could possibly explain the two. Oh or us from the future but that is reaching.

  3. I think some people are so h**l bent on finding proof of their religious belief, they'd swear they were seeing a vision of Mary holding baby Jesus in their bowl of Captain Crunch.

I think some of the UFO sightings could very well be military drones with cameras on them with the intent of finding fields of marijuana or drug cartels.

  4. My God, Hedd has a Head on her. (nasty)

  5. We've got Mary apparitions here in the US too, but I think the difference is that folks here don't get as fanatical about it as the devout in Mexico. I remember here recently we had "Mary" appear as a water stain under an overpass in Chicago. Personally, I thought it looked more like the Edvard Munch's "Scream".

  6. Like u said, its far fetched. Its either a coincidence or someone hoaxed it, but almost certainly not ufo's. why would they go bout doing something in such roundabout ways when they could just say hello?

  7. I think that they´re different things.

I´m Mexican , I´m catholic and I¨ve never seen the virgin or an UFO.

Well, I think that this is happening because of the need of feeling that we are not alone with our problems. That if the president or the government in general don´t pay attention to our voices somebody does.

At this moment I feel very disappointed about the killings in Ciudad Juarez, about drugs, etc.

Since colonial times we learned to believe and pray when nobody cares about our future;and when we are hopeless.  I´m not saying we´re supertitious but I feel we have faith that something have to change.

  8. I do not think so but to actually answer the question would take more than what I think or believe it would take some investigation.

For example questions would have to be asked about if UFO sightings were in the same area as Virgin Mary sightings and in the same time frame. Witnesses to both events would have to be questioned as to if they ever ever experienced the other event. For people that report both experiences one could do personality testing to see if that group of people (as compared to people experiencing only one event and the general population) have more of one type of trait or combination of traits.

My pure guess is that the people of Mexico are open to religious experiences happening (even though some may be attributing too much to a normal experience) and are open minded and curious enough to want to know what UFOs actually are and are willing to report them and investigate in order to find out.

I also think that some of it might be Mexican authorities encouraging UFO reporting so they can try to see how often and what the US is test flying over their air space.

Edit: Once again skeptic combine to attack one of my answers that does more than just say "it doesn't exist" or in this case attack the open minded and faithful people of Mexico as stupid superstitious peasants.

  9. I think the only relationship between UFOs and the Virgin Mary is that both require a bit of imagination.

I think it's no coincidence that the country reporting the most Virgin Mary sightings is the same country that worships the Virgin Mary.  In other words, if she's on your mind all the time you're going to see her everywhere.  But like many other things, it's just pareidolia.

  10. I don't believe in God
