they have won 5 in a row in comeback fashion.  At first critics say they will just be in last or second to last place before the season started.  Then they say they will drop off before the allstar break.  Now they are saying again, that they will drop off, but after the allstar break.  The cardinals have proved everyone wrong, and they are stepping up more than ever.  Soon they will get back carpenter and wainright, and if all goes well, mulder too.  The cardinals arent out of this pennant race, far from it.
