  1. If they carry knives and they get caught they should do a prison term, as they have a reason for carrying it in the first place.

  2. They should bring back "youth workers":

The conservatives got rid of most of the youth workers, and shortly afterwards, the crime began to rise, and has been rising ever since.

  3. yh it wont work but they should teach them or talk to them about it

  4. And that would work exactly how?

  5. Bring in the U.S. equivalent of the National Guard, it will scare the s**t out of them.

  6. I don't know if it would make much difference really, sadly i know of one user on here who is not online the last few days after stepping in to help someone been attacked only to be turned on by two girls.

Thankfully he is a lot better now, that is what shocked him most of all the lads stopped arguing and these girls just went nuts.

I hope he is better soon do. going to phone him later on and see does he need anything.

  7. It is an idea.

  8. i never thought about this, maybe but the founds for the army are so short already...death penalty?life for a life?

  9. interesting idea, but i dont think it would work as the street gangs can operate secretly organising meets away from their usual places. they are far too mobile, all the army will be able to do is keep the streets clear, look at northern ireland.

  10. it won't work. we've always had gangs and especially in prison.

  11. No, the police are better to handle that. There is different training between army and police. As soon as a soldier thinks a person is a 'enemy combatant', they kill them. I find police are more in tune with the gangs anyway. They just can't be everywhere all the time. I think CCTV is a good solution. Cameras everywhere, especially in trouble areas. I actually feel secure knowing there is CCTV watching the area.

  12. No - army training is for totally different types of activity. Soldiers are trained in disarming knifemen, but not in working out who they are or in avoiding people getting into that state in the first place.

  13. Bring back national service

  14. No dont get the army involved. Let them stab each other to death and get rid of them.

  15. No I think we should make the police actually police the streets.

Give them the powers and manpower they need to do the job properly. Lose all this PC c**p. They want to act like animals then treat them like animals. Harsher sentencing with no sweeteners.  If we need more prisons then build them....basic accommodation with no colour tv, no pool tables, no ping-pong....make them work or learn.

  16. The Government are the people responsible for the fact that criminals are looked after more than the victim, the deucation system is dire and prison is more like a holiday,WHAT WE NEED is a Government that can do the job not a bunch of socialist dreamers that never look further than the soundbite

  17. Martial law then?

No.  I don't think the army should be brought in.

Just move, let the gangs kill themselves off.

  18. We cannot spare military intervention without bringing back the draft system--they are needed in Iraq/Afghanistan etc., the state police MUST get tough.

  19. No they should double the number of police on the street that would be a start.

  20. absolutely not

people don't join the army to control other peoples feral children

  21. i think they should immediately reinstate stop and search with an automatic penalty for anyone carrying anything that can be constituted as a weapon without a reasonable explaination

the problem is, the police will inevitably target black kids, anyone with half an ounce of honesty will accept that in a city like London, this is a problem mainly within gangs, most members of which are black, black community leaders may denounce this as racist, but with limited resources, you have to use them wisely and i think profiling is justified

when London was on a terrorist alert, we had our bags checked when we went into the cinema - it was a door policy and everyone hapilly did it, the people doing teh searching were polite and nobody objected - if the police take the same approach - what is the problem

but parents have to start facing up to their responsibilities, ultimately it is their fault
