its a widely known fact that most journalists (especially tabloid) frequent members only bars on a regular basis where drugs and alcohol are rife. The media are the unelected representatives of our country. They can persuade us to think in a certain way by reporting about events in a biased and not necessarily balanced way. These people who are always getting off their **** on coke are commissioned to write articles about the likes of kate moss etc... Obviously they don't want to seem hypocritical, so they don't slate off drug taking celebrities as much as they should. The constant exposure to these drug taking celebs who are not being judged for their actions causes this behaviour to be normalised in kids eyes, so that this behaviour seems cool. So when they are offered drugs they are less likely to say no. Its reinforced by famous people having doors opened for them as a result of all the publicity they are receiving because they are falling out of nightclubs off their faces every night. Personally, i do coke myself every now and then. But I'm worried that kids are doing it. A survey has just shown that a quarter of 16-24 year olds have admitted to trying it. And that's just the ones that have admitted it. Adverts for alcohol are no longer allowed to glamorise drinking, or link it with anything remotely sexual. Do you think that the media should operate under new rules and not be allowed to normalise this behaviour or glamorise it in any way?
