  1. Did any of you actually watch the video?

Also, manthebraces is completely wrong and ALL of the people invloved in NOAH are DEMOCRATS. Jeez, do just a bit of research before posting idiocy.

NOAH (New Orleans Affordable Housing) is a quasi-city government agency "non-profit" run by city hall insiders. NOAH received a $3.5 Million federal grant to work on houses damaged by Katrina, including houses that were apparently abandoned.  The work included things like boarding up the properties, clearing away debris, and mowing the grass.

More city hall insiders (again all Democrats) were given contracts to perform the work and paid the money. However, an examination of NOAH's activities found that many properties they awarded contracts to fix didn't exist, were actually worked on by a charity (for which NOAH claimed credit), or belonged to high-ranking city officials.  A principal contractor for NOAH was the mayor's brother-in-law (Nagin's wife's brother).

There is now a federal criminal investigation into the activities of NOAH and hopefully Nagin will find himself behind bars as a result.

  2. You are catching on.  Those underwater pieces of property are worth a fortune to the people who want to bulldoze the houses, bring in about 10 feet of earthen fill and then build highrise MILLION DOLLAR AND UP CONDOS.  But... they need to get rid of the slums and the katrina houses first... and THEY WILL GET THE PROPERTY... because they can afford to wait longer than the people who are so despreate for money.

Those deep pockets people have ALREADY been buying the property that is owned by FEMA and only paying about 10 CENTS on the DOLLAR for what FEMA paid for it.. so the Amerikan taxpayers are picking up the tab.

AND... you can THANK GEORGE BUSH and the REPUBLICAN PARTY because it's THEIR BUDDIES who have the money to get that project off the ground.

  3. Brittany is correct, and once again the conspiracy nuts are "all wet."

  4. Actually, I think it's because it is not their responsibility. If you live in the New Orleans area for any amount of time, you know the risks. Hurricanes blow by all the time. GET INSURANCE!!!! We taxpayers should not be responsible for supporting people who chose not to be insured. Alternatively, MOVE.

  5. I went to the video and it has nothing to do with new orleans??
