  1. I don't think that will ever happen

  2. Only if Golisano wants to sell and can't find an owner other than Basille and he decides to move them.  With Buffalo being close to Hamilton, Basille may be cotent to keep them where they are.

  3. hope they move to toronto

  4. I still think Balsillie should just go back to Nashville and offer the locals a blank checque, and let them fill in the amount.  Figure they'll run out of cash in a couple years anyway (of course, they'll probably end up in Kansas City).

Southern Ontario...7 million people, the biggest untapped market in North America (the only option being the Leafs, for which tickets are near impossible to come by, and horribly overpriced).

The NHL has more teams in the state of California than the province of Ontario.  This makes absolutely no sense.

I have no idea what will happen.  Depends on the lease contract- is there a buyout clause?  Does Galisano want to sell?  I mean, you know if Balsillie makes an offer, it'll be a big number; he offered $238/$248 million for a crappy Nashville team...I could see him offering $300 million for Buffalo (compare that to what Galisano paid).  Jimmy B scares the c**p out of the league, because he's loaded, and clearly isn't afraid to spend money.

  5. NO WAY!  Tom Golisano wont let that happen.  why would he sell the team?  and why would the Sabres move when they pack more fans in the stands than almost every other team in the NHL?  that wont happen, and as a Sabres fan I will never see the day where it does.  I've got my vintage jersey on right now as I type

  6. highly doubt that would happen

  7. What would be the point... Hamilton wouldn't be able to support a Hockey team, where Buffalo couldn't... That and every attempt for a Canadian city to purchase an NHL franchise has been shot down. The NHL only wants to expand into the US right now...

You might as well buy a lottery ticket if you expect to beat odds like this...

  8. I hope not,but its a possibility.People are leaving Buffalo in droves. Its a dying city. The Bills are having problems supprting their team and they are playing in Toronto now to increase revenue.Buffalo needs to improve its economy if it wants to keep its sports teams.

  9. Keep dreaming, Hamilton, that'll never happen.

  10. Nah, the Sabres aren't going anywhere.

  11. no.  if anywhere it would be something like Las Vegas.  Way too much money out there to ignore

  12. I don't believe Hamilton will get a NHL team any time soon, I hate that for the city of Hamilton. The real issue comes down to TV money. The bigger fan base Bettman can generate in the US the better chance he has at getting the real money, The TV money. The ticket sales from each arena really only cover team expenses such as salary, overhead. Yeah, The owners turn some profit. But it's not any where near the amount people think. Why filling the seats is important is that's what drives the local TV market such as FSN. Yes Hamilton can support a team, However it won't happen because the NHL owners are looking at the national TV contracts, not just being able to sell out one arena.

  13. Oh God I hope not! Buffalo Sabres are amazing.

    Hamilton Sabres? wtf...? NO.

  14. the sabres won't move to hamilton.

because there's no business man who doesn't know how untapped the southern ontario market is. there's not a lot of people who know that the area will support more than one sports team. the person who is successful in bringing a team to hamilton has to know the market and do business there...so that's why jim balsille is the perfect guy to buy a team and move it here. the guy who owns the sabres want's to keep them in buffalo, and for as long as he's alive and doesn't sell his franchise, then i guess he'll keep his word. he'll sell only to someone who's not interested in moving the franchise. it also helps that the nhl is against rim balsille and that they'd rather have and keep an nhl team in buffalo.

the guy who owns the sabres isn't like the guy who owns the bills, cause the bills have sucked and have been loosing their fan base for as long as i've been born, and the owner swears until his death that the bills will stay in buffalo...hahaha but then guess what happens, people who know how untapped the market is in southern ontario for nfl persuaded the league to listen to them and then had the league get involved in making a deal that benefits mostly the nfl, into making this debunct longterm plan to bring nfl to toronto via the buffalo bills and i guess what they call the golden horseshoe market.

it's all evil dealings...not really evil, but i don't really support it. and also mlse and the sens won't support this balsille guy in getting a third nhl franchise here, unless there's something better in it for them aka $$$$$...which rim guy has plenty of.

now i'm going to go and answer your next question and tell you about how the nhl is running their business. this rim guy will get an nhl team, even if it's not the buffalo sabres, and it would benefit the nhl organization to have a cashflow really intelligent guy like jim balsille own one of their franchises ie. the nashville predators, atlanta thrashers...but i don't know if it's going to happen in the next 5 years...and if balsille will be successful.

  15. Never.

  16. No, I don't that will ever happen!

  17. no way. tom golisano said that if a new owner plans to move the team , then he wont sell.

  18. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

And yes, the only way they will be moved to Hamilton is if Baisille buys them.
