I mean, around each star is a planet or a bunch of planets and on one of those planets there has to be some type of life form...right?

  1. you are so right

  2. The aliens might be to busy to take a look at that.

  3. No.  Voyage I is farther from the Sun than anything else we've sent, and it's nowhere near even the nearest star system.  Here's a link that shows where the spacecraft are.  They're not that far outside our own solar system.

To put things into perspective, Voyager I is a little over 107 AU from the Sun.  The nearest star, Alpha Centauri, is a little over 272,000 AU from the Sun!

  4. i believe your speaking of the phonograph that Voyager took with it,the chances of aliens finding it are very slim, space is so vast.and the space between everything, even in the solar system is huge.but wouldn't that be the most awesome thing if they found it.but the signals that we flood out into space every day,for the past 60 years or so.some day they will pick them up and eventually if are race survives,we will make contact with ET.and that would be the most insightful experience ever.we could learn so much,it would answer one of the oldest questions that so many people have asked as they gazed up at the stars,"are we alone".

  5. Well, it hasn't technically left our solar system, so they haven't found it yet.  I think if it makes it far enough there will probably be someone out there to find it, but that will probably take thousands of years or more.

  6. Not necessarily each star.

There can't be life on a lot of planets because of the position.

What plaque are you talking about.

  7. There may be life out there, but there is no chance any of it has found that disc.

  8. There was a golden record onboard both Voyager missions which carried greetings from Earth among other things. Voyager 1 is the farthest man-made object from this planet, and it's still operating and broadcasting it's signal. Therefore I'm gonna say that no, aliens haven't picked up any of our stuff just yet.

Voyager 1 has been travelling for 31 years and is approximately 0.00169 light years out into space. For reference, the closest star is 4.37 light years away.

  9. probobly not it hasnt gotten that far out of our solar system yet.

  10. Perhaps there's intelligent life on Uranus...

  11. Around many stars (we think) are planets, and some of those indeed might harbor life.  Some of THOSE might have life advanced enough to detect and inspect a probe such as Voyager.  Some of THOSE might be interested enough to spend the time and energy to meet it and see the plaque.

In a few thousands years, Voyager will begin to pass other start systems.  Even if the universe is TEEMING with life, the odds of Voyager meeting one of those systems is almost nil.

It certainly won't happen in our lifetimes, or even the lifetime of our civilizations.
