Do you think that there are more non professional physicians than there are professional physicians?

I have been to 4 physicians that acted nonprofessional and only one that I was comfortable with that was professional. Do I just have bad luck or what? Is there a higher percentage of bad doctors than good?

Perhaps you're unlucky, but lacking further details I'd wonder if your expectations aren't unrealistic.

Bedside manner is more of an afterthought in medical school. It is stressed anecdotally but there are no courses, no evaluations, no real make-or-break kind of experiences that teach doctors how to speak to patients. I had a phenomenal neurosurgeon who - pardon my French - alienated the h**l out of me. Some of the problem could lie with the location of your care. Public hospital? Private hospital? Private practice? It makes a difference.

Physicians are people too.

Actually if I see real physicians I have never had a problem with unprofessionalism, Ive only had some pretty serious times when it was a physicans assisstant and a nurse practioner.

no their is not. i know tons of doctors that are super professional. I think It may also have to do with certain factors, such as  have they been up all night doing, cases and operating,

do they  know what you  are experiencing, or were they stumped . their are a ton of  lists of docs that can help you see a doctors rating, by actual patients  Angie's list medical boards of your state, and families and friends.  Also No i don't think their is a percentage

Almost every doctor I know is very professional with patients.  I know hundreds of doctors, mostly surgeons.

They are less professional when not around patients, of course, but it's rare to see one misbehave when dealing with a patient.

I wonder if there is something that you are doing or saying that brings out this behavior in otherwise professional people?
