Do you think that these AS Level courses are okay?

I either want to work in the business or the computing/IT industry.

Here are the 4 AS Level courses that I have chosen:

1. Applied Business

2. Applied ICT

3. Computing

4. Accounting

If you think that they are not going to be useful for my future then please let me know and suggest any other courses.

Thank you.

  1. "Applied" classes are usually geared toward people who are learning a trade rather than a degree. If you are learning a trade then these will be good, because they focus on how to actually use the information in your job. They tend to be more basic and may or may not count for credit for a degree.

  2. I think they sound like good courses if you want to go into computing/business, but I'd be concerned by the "applied" part of it. Also, I think you might be better off not doing both applied ICT and computing, coz that''l limit your choices a bit. Unis and employers look for people who have a range of qualifications quite often, so maybe you might be better taking a different course instead of one of those two. Maybe a science/language/humanities subject, depending on what your strengths are. But if you have good GCSEs in those subjects, it won't matter so much. Hope I helped, good luck with your A levels, and a word of advice, start thinking bout university quite early, coz believe me, you will end up in a major rush at the start of yr 13!
