  1. Cricket is a sport and winning is the only objective of any sport. If you don't think that as a player you are behind even before the toss. You play to win, not to simply have fun. It's not a bloody tea party!

As The Oracle has pointed out, “sportsmanship” is an urban myth.  :)

  2. Winning the game is important but not at the cost of sportsmanship and fair play, as the satisfaction of victory will never be there!

and yes, cricket is now more of a battle than a game due to lot of things at stake, so don't expect now sporting behavior from teams, it not only happens in cricket , it has been happening since ages in soccer and rugby, literally no sportsmanship and no fair play at all!

  3. winning a game is always importaint, it will never die

    and is not dying.

never to say again that cricket is less sporting or dying

  4. It's alwys been that way, right back to the days when rich men in England raised teams for single wiccket competitions back in the 1700's.

I think we all dream of those golden years when cricket was played merely for fun. Those days have never existed.

But cricket has become more commercial in recent times. There is more of an interest in how much money can be gleaned from the game.

  5. winning seems to be important in all sports nowadays
