  1. think of it  what we do to them they do to us...would you like to be a us marine these days??  only i had a bomb rigged to go off if they capture  me..bango!!  that is  got to  nasty

  2. It's illegal in the international community, and it has been for over one hundred years. The United States of America tried and convicted and hung Japanese soldiers for waterboarding American soldiers during WWII.

Why on Earth would George W. Bush think he could un-do over a century of civilized law?

I would like to direct your attention to the remarks just posted by one of the posters.

Waterboarding has been performed on "3 suspected terrorists."

    I repeat: 3 SUSPECTED terrorists.

Ladies and gentlemen, do I actually have to point out to you what's wrong with this picture?

  3. The way i see it, if it helps us save life then yeah, i mean it's hard to just say "YES" but honestly it helps us to save lives.

  4. No. It's torture. It should not be acceptable at all. It's pretty despicable that they have had to resort to torture so we are no better. We don't have the moral high ground anymore.

  5. I prefer the use of chemicals personally. It's more effective in my opinion but I would not rule out anything should the situation call for it. The comment about moral high ground is invalid because we are the only nation that even attempts to look like we comply with the UN mandates and the Geneva convention. It's a new day and the US has many enemies who I fear will one day destroy us. Our people are too soft and lazy to combat the forces arrayed against us. I just wonder what they will do when we lose? Liberals and conservatives both should worry, The US is about freedom and the power to choose and with it gone who or what will prevent the fascists from imposing their will elsewhere? The world is too afraid to admit it but they do not want us(the US) to lose this one. They just want us humbled a bit, well I have bad news, Europe is far closer to the middle east than Kansas or even California.

  6. Waterboarding has been A SUCCESSFUL way of extracting critical information from suspects for decades. It seems though that this method has grasped the main stream attention of the public recently. This is not the only higher level tactic that we use. In fact it is not near the worst. It inflicts no permanent damge, does not actually drown the individual, and keeps them very aware and cognizant of the situation they are in. It is used as an escalation of interrogation.

We do not go straight to Waterboarding an individual. Nor do we end with it. You have to escalate and then de-escalate a detainee. (At this point they are no longer suspects) we would not waterboard them unless 100% they are with holding critical info, that can be acted upon.

I have been in a waterboarding pit, and yes it is very unpleasant. However if you truley believe you will drown or die, (that is the intent given to the interviewee) you will cooperate to get it to stop.

Waterboarding should be the least of your worries, if you knew what these people were capable of or the plans they were in the process of carrying out you too would want to use the most effective tactics possible to ensure that info gets into the right hands.

By the way the worst "torture" as you would classify it, I have been through was just plain solitary confinement. after 5 days you really start losing your mind. And after 3 weeks there is no turning back. That really F*cks with your head. Hands down far worse than waterboarding

  7. YES AND MY OPINION IS IT IS A INTERROGATION TOOL......

  8. I think there are just some things we shouldnt ask about. There is a system of checks and balances in place it will do its job if a major violation has occurred.

  9. Waterboarding is illegal because it is torture.

  10. Do you think that waterboarding should be allowed by Islamic Radicals on U.S. soldiers?

    What is your opinion?

  11. I would allow it only on a case by case basis, and only with the specific approval of the President.  He would have to approve it each and every time it's used.

The US has only used waterboarding on 3 suspected terrorists, and each time they gained information that saved lives.  While I wouldn't trust the average CIA agent, or the average CIA manager, to make the correct call everytime, they seem to have done acceptably well so far.

  12. If it gets the job done I have no interest in winning the 'caring' trophy Nor to prove to your kind how caring i am

  13. As long as everyone who advocates for its legality is willing to endure 2 hours of waterboarding themselves, I'm sure I'd have no problem with it.  Let's start with the president and work our way down, and see how long anyone seriously maintains that it is not unlawful torture.
