  1. Good Question

  2. Once we get a UNC Government, the country will move forward.

  3. Of course we will, of course the answer does not lie in huge government bail outs for irresponsible lenders and irresponsible borrowers.  The answer to the economic problem is to the allow the Free Market System to work.  We need to work on finding alternate fuel sources and utililizing the ones that we have readily avaiable in the United States.  We need to quit converting the world's food supply into garbage Ethynol, if they are going to create an alternate fuel supply from grains they need to figure out a way to do it with rag weed or other weeds that are not used to feed humans and animals.  That's the main reason that you are seeing a spike in food prices, also China and India are becoming global players the millions of consumers that weren't consuming (fuel) 10 years ago are now competing for the same supply that has unfortunately not increased globally.  Yes we will get through this.  The answer to crime is this, quit sending our criminals to day spas, three hots and a cot, and a safe secure enviornment that's all that my tax dollars should pay for.  Also gun control is not an answer to stop the criminals, the only thing that stiffer gun laws does is take the rights away from the law abidding citizen and places them all into the hands of the criminals.  So to summarize:

    No Government Bail Outs

Alternate Fuel sources and utilizing, processing and refining what we have....The oil is here we just are wrapped up in enviornmental laws and are unable to tap into it.

Get rid of Ethynol or convert it from a grain based fuel to a weed source.

Stiffer prison sentences, no special priviledges for those that are already locked up, and continuing our freedom's by limited gun control.

Sorry so long winded, but hey you asked....

  4. with plenty prayers and loyal citizens we will

  5. For a country to change, first the people have to change, or at least change their mindset. Right now the die hard PNMites like it so as they are the ones affected by the situation the most. Until the people stand up and say enough is enough, it will just get worse and worse until we are Guyana or Venezuela.

  6. People sit back Trinbago OK. Trust me on that.

  7. I do hope that we move forward as a country. I'm Back has an excellent point. The reason why we're stuck in one spot currently is largely due to the fact that one political party has been in office too long. I do not affiliate myself with any one particular party and that's why I believe each party should be given a chance to prove themselves. Power in the hands of one group of people all the time is incredibly detrimental to a nation due the fact that after a while they start to assume that they are invincible and hence, take the people for granted.

The price of food is an issue that is not only affecting Trinidad and Tobago. Pressure is being felt all over the world and it's partly due to the whole "going green" situation. Instead of using a main food source as fuel, why not use the energy produced by landfills for instance (it is already being done in some countries). It's a paradox of sorts...going green may be beneficial to our health but it has backfired in the sense that it is definitely not beneficial to our pockets, if you know what I mean.

Something also needs to be done about crime, I agree. Fortunately, I live in an area which is still very safe when compared to the East-West corridor....I can leave my doors unlocked at night. On the other hand, this is not a luxury afforded to all citizens of our country. Simply put, the police need to be a lot more vigilant and the government needs to stop "farting" around and just enact a proper DNA act. Building a secure DNA database of past and present offenders could decrease the amount of crime in our country by increasing the potential for the crimes to be solved a lot faster or prevented altogether.

  8. I hope that we will.

  9. As a Trinidadian I think that this country has the potential and resouses to do a lot better that where we are today. But leadership starts from the top,and only when the leaders decide to sit and start to make good decisions and stop fighting in the Parliament like pre-schoolers,only then will we see some positive. No matter which government in power. The faithfulness of the people is what will see us through.

  10. we will move forward IF we want to. Maybe when oil and gas prices drop then the powers that be will really have to come up with viable solutions and not the current style of pouring money over everything and hope that it will go away.
