Do you think that we as Americans should overthrow our government?

Our government is not a democracy. We can't vote on the issues that matter, we can only vote on dirty politicians who want what is best for themselves. Our rights and freedoms are slowly dissipating. Wiretapping. The government sends people into your home to put you under arrest without a warrant. Everything we do is surveyed, have you not noticed the cameras everywhere you go? You are criticized for wearing clothes that have political meaning until you stop doing it. The media does not show the truth, it only shows what "they" want you to believe and buy, to make you scared. THANKS FOR ANSWERING, I WANT PEOPLE'S OPPINIONS!!!

I am just as mad as you are. Times are changing though. I feel as if we are in a transition. I find that there are things we can do to make a difference. Become as self sufficent as possible. Conserving also sends a message that you won't take it anyore. I am voting for Obama because he doesn't own anyone favorsg. We have had corporate leadership for the past 8 years-mostly from oil companies. War with iraq and deregulation of banks has just about ruined this country!

My goals for the next 10 years is to buy an electric car, ...move to solar or wind power. If you live in the city...use mass transit or go electric. I hardly buy detergents...vinegar and baking soda work great. I bought a LL bean tote bag so I can show my greenness with some class-no plastic. These simple things will put a choke hold on corporate-political power.

Media assumes we like to be spoon fed information, I work to find the truth. Democracy will not work without the truth. People are lazy though-targets for propaganda. After the Bush administration, and loss of jobs, people might be more apt to seek the truth.

Just remember George Bush will probably go down as the worst president in history. It is time to move forward!

No of course not!  We have the best and most successful form of government ever invented by man.  I also believe that if the government was overthrown folks that you would like even less than the current ones would be in charge, and you would have fewer "rights".

its stated in the constitution that we have that right. I am sick of our government too I time limits for those in congress. I would also have more of a check on them and put cameras and if they have meetings with business it would be monitored. the media is only there to control you and put ads for the businesses.

If bama gets in definatly. but really if you do what you say, there are so many bad people in this country right now that would take over and we would have chaos. i agree that a lot of bull comes from the white house, but i also see tons of Iraqis becomeing citizens and eventually those east people are going to overthrow us. Just like bama, you can sit in church and make everyone think your catholic and you can become a citizen and pretend to be a citizen then take over. I mean look at the pilots that drove into the trade center. they got away with it.

there is a civil way to change govt,it will occur as scheduled on nov. 4 you are correct, we are not a democracy, however i am not as cynical as you, you mis understand the wiretap law, the only time your conversation would be listened to would be because you dialed the number of a known or suspected terrorist or used "keywords" that the govtcomputers would kick in a recorder, it seems that many don't understand the govt listenning system, of protecting us from enemies from without, so far it has protected us from several hundred attacks, without listening to you talking to your homies, intersection cameras are to help rid the hiways and streets of careless drivers, without any interference in lawful movements, a small price to pay for safety,from accidents atm recorders have helped to solve many thousands of crimes without incurrences of privacy, i fail to agree with any of your grievances although i disagree with many politicians, i don't have your degree of cynicality with our govt, but do wish other voters would use more sensible discretion in voting for all govt positions, right down to city govt selection, these city council and county councils are where our federal leaders originate from, don't arm yourself to change our govt, change your vote to uphold our constitution, vote yes to changes that are allowed by the constitution, and leaders that do so!
