Do you think that we can not truly understand life until we are touched by the sweet hand of love?

YES! I agree.  But it is important for people to understand that there are so many different levels of love, and your statement probably does not work with every level.  

There is a physical love, and even though this is a very emotionally desirable, love, it probably does not make us understand life. If anything it probably confuses us as most skin deep relationships ... well, don't go any further or last period.

There is a unconditional love, and this one probably most relates to your statement.  As, an unconditional love is there for you in the best and worst of days of your life. It is a love that does not judge, and a love that truly cares.  

There is also a level of love in friendships. This is also a wonderful love, that would work with your idea. As friends approach each other in a different way, they care, they love, and they (for the most part) do not wish or hope to push that relationship to any other level, for they see the value in itself.  

I am sure other people could bring forth other types of love to discuss in this topic....But what I wanted to show is that people should not read that statement and think it will only happen for them if and when they find a boyfriend / girlfriend / spouse in their lives.

Yes.  Love is the most powerful positive emotion that a human being can experience.  It changes life perception and action daily.  It is a pool that we all must swim in to understand the dynamics of ourselves and our culture.

You can't know about life until you've experienced it all.  Love is part of that equation.  I know of no one who has experienced it all.  That's why we're still looking.
