Question:

Do you think that weighing a package at home on the scale is as accurate as getting weighed at the Post Office

well, I put a package that I am sending USPS on my home scale to get the weight so that I could calculate the shipping costs via USPS. Do you think that is as accurate as when the Post office weighs it? close any way??????????? Anybody that has tried this....... Can You tell me what you think?

  1. While my home scale is not usually totally accurate, I can at least get a rough idea. For example, I weigh myself while I'm holding my cat, then I weigh myself without the cat. The DIFFERENCE is what the cat weighs. I don't know that the cat by himself will show an accurate weight.

    You can "calibrate" your scale by weighing yourself at the doctors, then rush home and use your scale. LOL.

    Or put something on the scale that you are 100% of the weight, and see if you need to adjust the scale. Meaning something you've weighed before.

    For a smaller scale, like a kitchen scale, again I would see the "difference" between the package with and without a 2nd item to get a weight.

    I hope this makes sense!  :-)

    But Yes, I think it will be close enough to get a rough idea of the cost of shipping USPS.
