  1. First of all, the money that was earned to buy those investments was taxed.

And this was risked money, without guarantee of return. People can't write it off on taxes if their stock porfolios crash, so why should they get taxed more if their investments make money?

Secondly, with the level of taxation on businesses, the capital gains tax is a SECOND tax on the earnings of that business.

Finally, increasing taxes on investment returns will only DIScourage investment, and thus diminish the economy. Is that a worthy result of all this wealth envy? More economic misery for poor people?

  2. It should be a basic that can satisfy o a family or individual basic needs. Down this basic people should not pay taxes, up this basic people should pay the same.

  3. nope

    I'm for a flat tax

  4. Nope, they should pay the same.

  5. if the working people and below are the most likely to:

live off welfare and government aid

    use financial aid for education

use federal money to pay for their medical expenses (especially the old sick people who are not even working anymore)

free housing and food stamps, etc

then of course, they need to pay more for taxes.   If I were to have lots of money, I would not need nor would I be entitled to the above federal benefits, thus why should I have to contribute to working people's benefits and free money???

  6. No TAX
