Do you think that your parents should talk to you more or maybe less?

Question

My parents don't really talk to me much about things like growing up and I don't know whether they should or not.

I want to know whether any one likes their parents talking to them and whether they wish their parents would talk more or less to them.

My parents talk to me enough, so I'm satisfied with the amount of interaction I give and receive from them.

I talk to my mom a lot, well mainly just because it is just me and her. With sister at college, and my dad passed away it gave me a chance to talk to my mom. Parents should talk to their kids more.

my parents and i are pretty open and i like it for the most part because it means we are on the same page about things like drug, s*x, alcohol, etc. they kind of just tell me their experiences with everything and what to watch out for but their like we know stuff is going to happen...i really like that

I feel like they're not even there most of the time. They really don't care about anything I do [or so it seems], and all my friends think I'm lucky but really I'm not because we never talk...

I talk to my dad alot. I just wish my mom would talk to me more. She thinks she knows about everything that goes on in my life, when really she has no clue. Then she'll go on and make assumptions about me, that aren't even close to being true. She thinks I'm somebody that I'm not.

My parents talk to me an average amount...If there's something on my mind, I can openly discuss it with them, well, my mom at least. With that being said, they don't hover around my life 24/7 either.

No i think its best i don't really talk to them because my mom usually has a attitude and my stepfather we aren't like that but even so i do wish my mom would talk to me like she used to before she got married

id like to talk to my parents about that stuff more...but theyre never open about it..and my mom says it so wierd like its a science...the other day she asked me "is there someone from the opposite s*x that you feel a physical attraction to?" and i know she was trying to look smart and stuff but yeah...

Well when they talk to me most of the time i wish they wouldn't but when i end up in situation that they have warned me about, im glad they did talk to me because i know how to handle it.

Here is an example

My dad was talking to me about s*x, he told me to wait until marriage but if i couldn't to always use protection. He also told me to know something about the girl too.

Well I was at a friends birthday party and this fine girl was dancing with me the whole night. Later that night she took me into the guest room and began to undress me. While she was doing it i has an uneasy feeling in my stomach so i stopped it. That whole night i felt like such an idiot until the next day, i saw three of my friends being arrested. They had all had s*x with the same girl and the girl accused them of rape. One of my friends had caught an STD and the other two served time. I thanked my dad for teaching me what was right.

When I was younger my dad died when I was 4 years old so there was no father in the house. Only my mom. We never talked about stuff like puberty & things like that. I was on my own. I ended up loosing my virginity at 13 years old to a 16 year old because she just let me go where I wanted to without thinking twice. I knew about pregnancy, std's, and stuff like that though. Especially since there was no father in my life, I didn't learn any lessons.

I suggest you bring it up with your mom or dad because one wrong turn in life and it can s***w up your life (falling pregnant, infections, etc). I was fortunate and didn't end up pregnant though.
