  1. Kind of depends on which century you are living in.  Some just hate so deep they can't let go.

It isn't nowadays.  That would be racist.  therefore sin.  That doesn't mean some aren't.

They support and honor the Jew and try to get along with the Muslim.  Not the same thing and as both are Semitic it doesn't come into play in the church.

    Churches don't suck, people do.

  2. A few Catholics may be anti-Semitic in violation of Church teaching but the Catholic Church is not.

    The Catholic Church officially teaches:

When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, "the first to hear the Word of God.

The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant.

To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ"; "for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable."

Neither all Jews indiscriminately at that time, nor Jews today, can be charged with the crimes committed during the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from Holy Scripture.

The first chapters of "The Myth of Hitler’s Pope: How Pope Pius XII Rescued Jews From the n***s" by Rabbi David Dalin, Ph.D. chronicles the acts of the Popes over the centuries in support and protection of the Jews. http://www.catholicleague.org/pius/dalin...

    With love in Christ.

  3. I got my B.Sc. from St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia--I have the greatest respect for my priests (as well as for my rabbis). During n**i times there was anti-Semitism, but today it comes from the association of R.C. people with Palestinians WHO DISTORT THE TRUTH.

  4. Oh, I dunno, cause every one was real friendly to me when I applied for baptism here in Coppa del Sol in Martinique.

I love Catholics myself and I am studying "the Book" and I believe that by the end of the month I'll be a proud Christian Catholic person myself.

    Shalom

    Israel Chai!

  5. might have been in the past, not now nowadays.

  6. Does the term "Spanish Inquisition" ring a bell?

The Catholic church has a long history which exhibits blatant antisemitism; all you need to do is read the book Constantine's Sword (authored by a Jesuit) to see this is true.

  7. There is scant evidence for that although there have been antisemitic priests. Jews - both historically and in contemporary terms - have consistently positioned themselves as arch-foes of the catholics,I gather because they are confusing the Romans who wrecked the temple in the 2nd century with the Church because after the 10th century is was renamed the Roman Catholic Church, basically just because it was and is based in Rome. Martin 10th in the 10th century also forbade persecution of jews, and antisemitism itself was condemned by Pius 11th in 1928. Jews are unaware of the severe persecution they experienced at the hands of the pagans or the fact that persecution sharply declined after the advent of christianity although it did persist. Hyam Maccoby has indoctrinated all contemporary jews with the idea that antipathy to jews began with christianity, which leaves us to wonder as to  the massacres and mass expulsions to which they were subjected by the pagans.

There are extremist within the church who reject Vatican II and are indeed antisemitic; they are called ultramontanes. They are very few in numbers but jews give them a high profile to justify their insatiable hatred of Catholics.

  8. In the past, the church has been anti-semetic, such as during the Crusades, the Inquisition, and the mid-millenium expulsion from just about every European country. However, many Christians today are very kind to the Jews. However, there will always be fringe groups and there will always be fanatics- that is unavaidable.

  9. These days we love the Jews.  I am an Irish Catholic, and I believe in supporting Israel, and believe God protects those who do.  I support AIPAC and Catholics for Israel.
