  1. this question has been asked about 500 times, please do a erach before you ask a question, and they are not underage, they're just extremely good and dominating every country, all chineese look younger than what they are

  2. One of them for sure is not 16 or 15. Probably 2 of them are not.  China is teaching it's citizens it's alright to lie and cheat to get what you want.   People would lie to God if they thought they could get away with it.

  3. I don't think most of them are.  I think the one that beat Nastia on the tie was younger than 16 which means Nastia Liukin probably should have been the winner in my opinion! shes so gooddd.

  4. if you think cheng fei (the oldest one on the team) is younger than 16, then there is something wrong with your vision

  5. Only one of the woman in the gymnast is 16 the rest are 12,13,14.

  6. Please research questions. it's so easy and you can find all the questions like this that have already been asked.

  7. Sorry but it is a known fact that some of them were 13 and 14.

  8. Maybe one of the are, but most asian especially those from the north (whiter skin, are look younger than most ethic)  Not just woman, men as well.  I look about 10 years younger and I asian. So there you had it. You can't claim their underage till their got proof, also if i not mistake, i swear i saw a gymnast age 15 post in the screen perform in the olympic, i think is russia or romanai somewhere.  Also is their diet, look their body, they very skinny very different than american gymnast probably eat too much fast food while other one just simple diet.

  9. Big deal, I don't look my age. Neither do lots of people. It isn't like you can cut them open and count the rings or anything. Just let it go.

  10. LOL! Who honestly believes ALL of the chinese gymnasts are 16?  Maybe one is, but isn't it rather odd that ALL of them are 16?  How come no 17 year olds?  I'd be more apt to believe a 12 year old was 17 than 16, if 16 is the minimum age to play in the Olympics....at least it shows some degree of cleverness...but to think that the entire world is going to believe your pre-teens are all 16? gimme a break....snap me off a piece of that kit kat bar.  And give us back our gold in women's team!!!! bungholes!!!

  11. Can we build a bridge and get over it! Quickly!

    What's done is done folks.

  12. Both Yang and Jiang — and their teammate He Kexin — have been at the center of age falsification questions leading up to this Olympics. Some Chinese sports registration lists have shown that those gymnasts may not be old enough to compete at the Games. I do feel IOC did not look into this situation as thoroughly as they should have. Perhaps they did not want to offend the hosting nation. This may be something they will have to set better rules on in the future as far as what can be used as proof of age. Some say they should eliminate the age limit to allow all countries to compete on the same level. I feel this would be detrrimental to the sport and athletes.

A Chinese newspaper which is govt. regulated has article that they have documents that show one of the girls was 13 last year so she is 14 now. All this has been additionally fueled by the fact that prior to the Games one of the Chinese gymnasts admitted that she was 14 and not 16 and her passport papers had been altered.  She was not allowed to participate.

There has also been some discussion over the fact that the shortest member of the team still had baby teeth in front and had lost a tooth indicating she was under 16.  The Chinese said she had lost the tooth when she hit the bar during practice.  However, during the last individual events everyone noticed she no longer had the missing tooth and all her front teeth had been capped and are now larger in size.  I don't think the truth will ever be known for sure.  Everyone just has to decide for themselves.

  13. Heck no they aren't 16. What a bunch of cheaters!

  14. Innocent until proven guilty. The IOC had to approve their passports before they were allowed to compete, and every country had to agree on their age; therefore it is very likely they are not underage, but not beyond all doubt.

Chinese women often look younger than they actually are.

Some people speculate based on their height, but if you look at the US gymnast Shawn Johnson, for example, she is only 4'9" in height.

  15. All Asians people look younger than they are but well..Whats wrong with to be young and World Champion? u should be proud if your daughter or son won a gold medal at the Olympic..

  16. they definitely look at least 14 years old. but i dont think i care if they were or were not 16.

  17. It's controversial.

There has been documents saying at least one of them was 13 last december so obviously that's not old enough now.

Although gymnasts often look young for there age, they look almost absurdly young.

  18. asian girl look young, so to be honest i think they are of age. i mean i've seen girl who are in thier 30's and still look under 18

  19. well look at shawn johnson (eepp i love her) she looks like she is 12 but no she is 16. soo just because they LOOK really young doesnt mean that are.

when your in such a strenuous sport like gymnastics and you work out everyday...you dont develop completely. like some gymnasts and stuff dont even get their period. and if they do its super light.

  20. You know I keep seeing people posting about this on here. I have to say that here in the UK we have heard nothing about this story. I can only suppose because there is no real story.

  21. I agree that many Asians look younger than they really are(lucky suckers!) but these gymnasts definitely did not strike me as being 16.  And apparently there has been evidence that could prove that they are younger than 16.  However, I don't think they will really do much to address the issue.

  22. I think one or two of the gymnasts are of age, but no way they are all 16.

for the smallest one, 13 is the highest TOPS.

    it's ridiculous.

  23. Yes i do think the Chinese gymnasts are underage and i think that the judges are biased to them. Especially on the beam because they mess up a lot and still get good scores.

You can see maturity in someone's face.  Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin are teenagers and no one would question it because they look grown up.

The Chinese don't have that facial maturity.
