Do you think the Department of Education should be eliminated?

Many Conservatives opposed its creation in 1979 and for years they said it should be abolished. I haven't heard their recent opinions on it, though. What do you think?

Definitely.  Look at our education system.  It sucks.  It was made worse by federal oversight of state education.  Get rid of it.  Then, take on the teacher's union.

Yes. I've never one single thing about what the federal government can do about education that state governments cannot do. We do not have a federal government that is supposed to solve all problems. It is supposed to solve problems that states cannot -- defend the nation and regulate interstate commerce.
