Well they did get Christopher Carter back in the deal.  He, along with Dana Eveland and 4 others were then involved in the trade which brought Dan Haren to Arizona so overall it didn't work out too bad.  They were able to trade Quentin because they wanted to get Justin Upton more playing time.

edit: Carter is going to be good.  He's 21 years old and he hit 35 HR, 98 RBI for the A's minor league team.  Ten years from now you might be saying "We had Carter and traded him away for Dan Haren.  What a bad trade"

The Diamondbacks gave up on Quentin too soon.  They knew he had talent and all they can do now is look in the paper every day and see his numbers grow way beyond anything they have.  I don't know if it could be considered one of the worst trades in history because they did acquire some good young talent in the deal and only time will tell how these players develop for the Diamondbacks.

I was thinking that as I was preparing to go to the sox game tonight.  I told my boys going into the season when we got him, that this trade was going to be great for the white sox.  Now everybody loves this kid.  CARLOS FOR AL MVP!

In Arizona, he was injury prone and flat-out sucked. It's just lucky that he's doing so well in his new team.
