  1. No, I think he's rolling over in his grave with the whole Miley Cyrus thing, as he should be.

But I do love his old animated films and Disneyland!

  2. The Walt Disney Company today is clearly far beyond anything Walt Disney could have imagined.  That's not necessarily bad or good, it's just reflective of the way things were when Disney died and the way things are now.

Disney was one of the pioneers of television and he used it extensively to market his product -- the parks and the films.  Now, television is itself a source of product, and it seems reasonable he would have embraced this new type of content as an outlet for creativity.

I think he would have loved that his concept of Disney parks was expanding to Europe, Japan, and Hong Kong, that kids and families around the world could go to a Disney park and have fun together.

I think he would have seen involvement in things like ESPN and maybe even ABC to be secondary to his main focus, and he probably would not have cared for the more adult-oriented shows on ABC and films from Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, and Miramax.  Whether he would never have allowed the company to go that route or if he would have tolerated it in the name of business (letting other people run the details of it while he focused on the parks and family entertainment) is something we'll never know.

In sum, while I'm sure he never could have imagined the sheer scope of the Company as it exists today, I don't think he'd be displeased, at least not overall.

  3. No, they have done a great job with the parks

but i am really dissapointed in the animation nowadays

I love old animation, and the movies that come out now suck

  4. Yes.  I think the Imagineers at Disney have done an amazing job of preserving his image in their theme parks and movies.  The only bit I'm skeptical about is the television side, but Walt loved the Magical World of Disney TV specials because they gave a chance for a little piece of Disney to be in everyone's living room, so I'm assuming he would be just as happy with the Disney Channel, ABC, etc.  After all, his main goal was to make the children happy, and if Hannah Montana is what it takes nowadays, then so be it.

  5. No i dont think so i just think he wanted money!

  6. no,i think he just wanted an amusemenat park!hope that helps!

  7. nope!!!!!!!!! he said he want an amusment park, and then he died! he didnt know anything!

  8. Yes

  9. Yes, cause he built the whole thing.

  10. I don't see why not. He was an entrepreneur and an artist who knew how to market magic to kids. That's what the parks, the movies, and the cruise line do. I don't know what he'd think about Miramax, though.

  11. how would we know? honestly.

  12. When he was alive and well I'm sure.

Now though....I think he would be sick to his stomach, I visited Walt Disney World for spring break and after a fireworks show which was sponsored by a company name Siemens. They advertised the word Siemens on space ship earth (the golf ball) I know that he wouldn't be happy with how there's bars and alcohol in the park and how some of the parents treat their children inside the park also.

  13. While he might be fairly happy with Walt Disney World in Florida and how it has expanded to multiple parks and all...

    THAT WAS NOT HIS DREAM!!!

If you know your Disney history at all, you know that just before Walt died of lung cancer he was working on E.P.C.O.T.!!

His ORIGINAL idea for E.P.C.O.T. was NOT the park that we have today, but, an actual city where people lived, worked, and played!!  He wanted to make an advanced city, a design for the perfect city ( if you will )... And I believe, nay, I KNOW that if Walt had lived longer he would have accomplished just that!!

I also believe that he would have been TOTALLY disappointed with how the traditional animation department has gone down the tubes... especially with the animated features of the Nineties that had hidden "Sexual" stuff in them (You know, the Little Mermaid Cover art, The Lion King Stuff, and there's more) and all!!  If Walt were around when that had happened... HEAD'S WOULD'VE ROLLED!!!!

And while I think he would've loved the new 3-D computer animated stuff...  he certainly would've kept traditional animation alive...  where-as the Disney company has only just started to bring it back...

C'mon... it's TRUE!!  The Disney company had stopped ALL TRADITIONAL animated features since the last one (Home on the Range) and have been doing CGI stuff ever since!!  They just recently have started up the traditional animation department again, and are releasing "The Princess and the Frog" in 2009!!

Do you think that if Walt were still alive, that he WOULD EVER have let the traditional animation department close???
