There will never be a United Sates of Europe. The Yanks all over the U.S pride themselves in one thing only when it comes to hard times. They unite their Stars and Stripes. Europe on the other hand is full of different cultures and  nationalities and its members with an atitude of 'Am alright Jack'.

Yes, in fact I do. The EU is a unique union of cultures and nations, based on the principles of humanism and peace. If it stays like this, it is bound to become the best place in the world to live. Its future lies in the richness of cultures, history and resources and its near future is closely related to the newly joined Eastern countries - they are still to be "discovered" by the West:)

In fact in many aspects the EU (or at least parts of it) probably already is the best place in the world to live.

And this means the EU should become a fortress - i.e. the EU should guard its boundaries very strictly.

I can also say why I think so, but probably this is the answer to another question:)
