As some have said, you carve your next now moments with each thought, word, & deed, but the thought always comes first. This is why so many disciplines tell us to learn to watch our thoughts. The future is impossible to determine, however a general interpretation of basic scenarios can be speculated.

Yes, I think we often make our own future by our actions.  We don't always see the actions because they are sometimes very subtle.  At times it's hard to get yourself out of the rut because of an action that went wrong and we make the situation worse.
