Do you think the IPL will help to break Australian dominance of cricket?

Question

Obviously there are differences between test, fifty overs and twenty/twenty cricket.

However the feel good factor from winning in one form of the game can filter throughh to the other forms. Are India at the dawn of a golden era? Or is this just a case of the game needing to be experimented with like in the Kerry packer period: Or even a combination of these and other factors.

T20 is the cricket of today! It's less time consuming, entertaining and exciting! And IPL is really the block-buster of the year! And i agree with u, India is the rising star! IPL has and will certainly help India in many ways. So may be IPL will help to break Aussies dominance of cricket!

IPL has certainly bent the world cricket scene towards India. Well it was already though, now India has even bigger impact. Its right that Tests & ODIs are the basic older formats of the game but T20 is good to take the game under spotlight globally as it makes room for the fast paced world to sit & watch the game for what about 3 & a half hours & thats certainly a good point of it.

I actually think it is a chance of splitting cricket. It could undermine the ICC and go into that state when KP's World Series Cricket was around.  So there would be at least two bodies with there own agenda and possibly rules competing for players and crowds.

No. The best performers in the IPL were Aussies and an aussie took the cup as well. IMO aussie players will use IPL as a way to break back or into the national side. Watson, Marsh, David Hussey all benefitted from this tournament.

I think the problem with indians are that they aren't mentally strong in crunch situations. This is total contrast to the aussies who almost thrive on them. Until Indians find a way to become mentally stronger, unfortunately I don't see them dominating.
