  1. yes

  2. I'm going to be cautiously optimistic and say yes.

Gustav has weakened to a Cat 3 and has shifted to the west a bit.

Hopefully the storm will be far enough away that the levees will hold.

  3. Well, that is a very tough question. They have been saying that they are improving the levee sytem but really. What are they doing adding more dirt. New Orleans will be in the right front quadrent, the worst part of the winds and surge in the hurricane. As of now it really depends how close the center passes to NO. they are predicting 5-8 feet of surge around NO but locally 15 feet. If the surge is 5-8 feet the levees can deal with that but if it's above 10 feet they may have a problem.

I think there may be some levee breaches but NO is much more prepared this time around.

  4. I hope so. But if the hurricane is still strong most likly not. I hope it does though. I wish you all the luck in teh world. Everything in New Orleans is in great danger. May god be with you.

  5. Matter of fact, the levee did not hold.

  6. No, I don't think so, sadly.

  7. Depends on how the hurricane actually makes landfall...I hope so though.

  8. ABC News said about an hour ago that the levees are not fully repaired, so that answers your question.  The government sucks.  Bush sucks.

    Obama/Biden 08!!!!

  9. just heard on the news, the levee broke in new orleans!  omg!  vp 17 year old daughter is pregnant! wow!

  10. No, I read some place that the levees can not take a hurricane above a category 2.  I wish I could say yes sorry!!

  11. my guess is this new orleans will be under water by tomm nite. alot of water and no people. ray nagin kiss your city good bye

  12. All the repairs are not finished yet. they will not be finished until 2011 as there are 360 miles of them altogether.

The engineers say it is a possibility that there might be some flooding.

It all depends on the storm surge that comes with Gustav.
