  1. no. they have a long term deal. and the City wouldn't allow it. they wouldn't help build it or help them get any land.

  2. NO!  The Angels are basically an Orange County team, despite the name change from Anaheim Angels to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for marketing reasons only.  The Big "A" was remodeled not too long ago, and that was one of the big reasons they were granted the 2010 All Star Game. Plus Angel Stadium is a landmark in OC, especially the "A" and halo off the 57 fwy.

Angel fans in SoCal are typical OC residents, as in they won't wander too far past the "Orange Curtain" into Los Angeles for much of anything. Plus if they move to LA, they will pi$$ off a lot of fans and lose them forever.

Plus the city of Anaheim and the Dodgers would go to court to block any such move.  Heck, I still see some sportscasters and analysts call them Anaheim Angels.

  3. Someday, maybe - but not anytime soon.  I've been to most of the MLB stadiums - and Angels Stadium is one of the nicest ones.

  4. but then they wouldn't be the los angeles angels of anaheim!

  5. Doubt it. They're locked into a long-term lease at Angel Stadium and it was recently remodeled. So there's no real reason for them to move.

I do think the name change was wack, though. I get wanto to capitalize on the Los Angeles market, but calling yourselves an L.A. team while playing in a different county just isn't right. Just call yourselves the California Angels again and be done with it.

  6. I doubt it, the Angels have been based in Anaheim for a long time and I don't think they will move them to downtown LA. The Dodgers have been in LA since 1958, so it's basically their terratory. If anything, I would expect the Angels to change their name back to "Anaheim" as the next biggest move.

  7. I hope not because whenever someone gets a new park...they suck(Nationals)

Angels Stadium is nice enough and its my favorite park. It has the perfect so cal look to it.

  8. No, they have a new ballpark that is nice.  And LA might not let them do it.

  9. yea then they would have to be the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Los Angeles

  10. No, why would they? They remodeled their park a few years ago. They're not going to waste money on a new park for the sake of having a new park.

  11. nah its better in anaheim :)
