  1. No. They are going to be flooded like in Katrina since the article on Yahoo said they haven't finished building the levees yet.

  2. NOLA residents will be lucky if they do because Gustav is going to hit on the western side and that´s the side that isn´t complete yet. It will probably be a 3 when it hits but stay a 2 or 1 for a while because of area of water next to Texas that it will have next to it.

  3. Cat 4. and no I don't think the levees will.

  4. It is a category 2 and weakening. Thank goodness.  The levee didn't hold.

  5. category 2.  the winds are high.  it is 9:15 pm in Louisiana.  7 reported dead.  levee has held so far.  the hurricane is now in central louisiana. many house fires.

  6. No chance! The corps of engineers has him-hawed on their efforts,of restoration, for a reason. The reason being;- the entire system of levees was under-engineered,to begin with. They built this house on a foundation of sand and have only improved the appearance of the house-not the foundation it rest's upon. The city of New Orleans will be lost,at the hands of political corruption, and the mis-direction of government funds. The failure to address this fundamental aspect of that city's existence, is a failure of all who have governed this city and state.

  7. They're holding so far.

  8. If they dont then we have REAL problems! When the Governor doent think so andhe is the first one out I doubt it.

  9. I think it depends on how strong of a storm surge hits us.  Since the levee on the West End isn't even completed yet, I think there's a strong chance that neighborhood will flood.  The levees in Houma also face some possibility of not holding.

  10. cat. 3-4
